Quotes:

"I saw them at the pumpyard in Baghrat-- they were juicing up when some raider types came up and started harassing that native woman... Well, her man could have intervened, but he just sort of kept back and balled it all out... There were three of those guys, and when one fell, I'll tell you, they all fell... That woman dropped three big men in fewer seconds-- with a diesel nozzle..."
--Basie Tammady, Entertainer/Performer (Tavern Singer and Dancer), The Oasis at Baghrat

"That woman has been through the crucible of the Wastelands... Her whole tribe slaughtered-- she got chained, conquered, and concubined-- some Abyssian merchants out around the Swinery, Baghrat... [Zenzou] saw how they were treating her, and I guess he just jumped... He crunched a bunch of them and then powered out into the Bush with the woman... Of course he gave her her freedom, but by her culture, what he did for her means that she will stay by his side forever now. .. Forever..."
--Bong Subong, Alleged acquantance, Baghrat

"D. Dogard had acquired this skin, which was articled proper and subject of said; "Ana Escapana"-- according to the Law of Seven Cities writ-- belongs to our own late and begrieved citizen, Drajik Dogard, whose standing was market good... As such, by right, his property should become estate his eldest, who has already demanded the Rule of Free Justice... As far as anyone should be concerned, it belongs to Dogard..."
--Lord Paolo Azuzzu, Abyssian High Council Envoy/Ambassador to Baghrat City

Image
"Ana is the one who knows me; she's the only one that knows what I need... "
--Zenzou

Notes:

The base figure that I had used here was a Marvel Black Widow, augmented with some sculpting clay and painted. The boots are from the SW line.Unfortunately, I cannot recall which head I used-- and if anyone call tell, I'd love to know. It is highly modded, so kudos to anybody that can ID that. I also modded the head/neck with a wire to enable her a fuller range of motion, and allowing her to tilt her head.

The hair and garb are my typical style-- and she also has some embellishments in her hair, such as some dreads, feathers, etc..

Zenzou features weapons from various sources including Marauder Gun Runners.

Thanks for checking it out, and please let me what you think...

Zenn

Cool work, the tent and symbol of her peoples is a nice touch.

It's amazing how far you've come since you first started with the "real" hair and soft goods.
I really dig this.

The depth continues to amaze. Every extra detail you create is independently cool, and never takes away from the overall effect, always enhancing it instead. i'm talking mostly of the corporate logos, or here the native tribe symbol. While the world you've created has a theme that is carried out in almost every custom, the diversity you create within that theme is very cool, and as someone said before is very immersive.

I can't believe no one has yet to mention that she's HOT!!! Excellent work. Your skills with the hair are quite remarkable.

Have you thought of thinning your paints out a little bit? I know skin tones have a tendency to clump.

Thank you, my friends, your comments mean a lot.

No one can ID that head? I'm quite at clueless.

Tex, I'm terrible at painting, agreed. It's a skill that I do hope to eventually improve, although I must admit that I put perhaps too little emphasis on that aspect. I have some difficulties in that area in general. My rank is very obviously amateur.

Dennis, your insights are always appreciated. Thanks for noticing the nuances especially, brother.

if I'm going to guess the head, I'm going to say a StarWars DarthTalon with the head lobes chopped off maybe?

Post subject:  Re: Futureshock:2o5o>Wastelanders...

Dennis, it's not Talon, although I do believe that I've lopped a few lekku in my days. There is a strong chance that it could be Juno Eclipse, but since I haven't got an unmodded Juno head here, I have no way to really verify that.

It has become a conundrum. :-/

Thanks for the keen effort though. I would have to say Juno, for the record.

I don't think it's the Juno/Deena Shan head. The one you used has more of a 'glare' to it than that one (it's not the variant Deena Shan, either...that one has larger lips). My guess is one of the Padme figures, but I could very easily be wrong.

The figure looks great. Kind of a Dark Pocahontas vibe going on. What brand of paint are you using? A lot of the cheaper craft paints like Apple Barrel clump up really, really easy, no matter what your skill level. They're more expensive (almost criminally so), but if you can find Citadel paints, they're nearly magic.

Post subject:  Re: Futureshock:2o5o>Wastelanders...

Darko, thanks for the comments, man. You hit the nail when you said "Dark Pocahontas". Although that had never crossed my mind, I 'm feeling that description now. Thank you.

The highest quality paints that I've used would be Testors, but I do use those craft paints that you had mentioned also.

I suppose that my view has been that the paint gets so promptly worn and rubbed away from moderate handling, that I just don't mind it as much as I should.

By "clumps" though, is anyone referring to that nodule under her right armpit? If so, that's not paint-- it's a plastic burr-- over which, I painted... :whistling:

Regarding the head, I do occasionally "sculpt" lips with paint layers, and the sheen of her skin tone that you had noted could be veneer, I think...

Here's that same head sculpt-- a previous incarnation exhumed from the crypt files ("expired" characters):

...and thanks again.

Well I've seen enough of your work to know better, when you say your skills are lacking. I have always assumed the texture or style of application of the paint in your fleshtones was quite deliberate, and overall working towards a specific visual effect. Considering the various photo effects you use, it actually enhances that, not unlike stage actors and make-up.

That is just amazing.

With the level of detail, I was almost sure I was looking at a 12-inch figure.

Great work.
