SOooooooo glad Aquaman is back. After reading Brightest day #1 I was hellbent on making an Aquaman and Black manta. I'm really excited about where these characters are going under the writing of Geoff Johns. Always one of my all time favorites Aquaman is finally being written well and Black Manta has always been a great nemesis to the King of the seas. I'm really happy with how these turned out. I made a water hand/ bearded era aquaman awhile back and I've been itching to do the classic look. After several mods and parts choices I like the black Manta too. Still gotta add the A to the belt on Aqua and wanted to do a trident too yet but otherwise these are pretty much complete.

Very clean work on both of these.

Knowing how tough yellow can be to work with, I'm especially impressed with Aquaman's hair.

Black Manta is a cool looking figure, but I can't help thinking how much harder he'd be rocking if you nabbed a Brave and the Bold Black Manta figure and stole his head.

Great work! Did you try the other head? If so I'd like to see a pic of that. I think the B&B might be just a little too big although I agree that is a good head too.

I actually had two heads I was deciding between, The current and a black manta head from the 3'' pocket heroes line. I was going to try both but for some reason I just felt good with the avac head. I though it gave it a more modern updated look. And funny enough I even looked into the Brave and Bold figure almost buying one on ebay for $2 but the pocket heroes head fit much better. I guess it just came down to personal preferance choosing the avac head.

This was the other head I was going to use.

Both are great, but those Punisher hands don't do it fer me on Aquaman, i like the new look of Black Manta, great job on him.

Nice work on both. I salute your success with painting orange (I hate using it myself). As for a trident, the Marvel SHS Sub-Mariner had one that might work.

yeah aquaman does look good, painted well but the punisher hands are too big compared to the rest of his body

I actually tried Capt America gloves, Cobra commander and Deathstroke from the Dc infinite line. They were way too small for that bulky upperbody. He looked like "Tiny hands" from the Burger King whopper commercials. So the current hands were decent enough. I'll probably switch the left hand though. I still gotta add the namor trident and an A on the belt too. This Aquaman actually started out as a side project while I was waiting on parts for the manta but I ended up really liking it. Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions guys. I really appreciate it.
