First the disclaimer...I have not seen the movie yet (though I am literally JONESING to) and unlike some, I prefer not to indulge in web or TV images because I prefer to see things fairly fresh when I am sitting in the theatre. Learned my lesson with that movie "Pulse". I was going for the "flavor" of it more than accuracy here.

Anywho, I plan to stubble and shadow up his face some, and am kittens to my buddy Rob for throwing that BBi head in a bag of heads he sent me. He had the peg hole and it was a perfect fit for the Persian dude's peg, so I can fully pose his head to turn when it comes time for bow shots. Nothing worse than having an archer who cannot do several types if archer shots.

I loved that Persian hood on the figure, so I nipped off his cloak part with the wire nippers to maintain the hood. Been a fan of that ensemble since the BBC RH that few care for. Trimmed his greaves of the point, and trimmed the tunic to have the stereotypical medieval edging. His mantle is leather and the fastening pin is acually a gold coin cut off of a D&D miniature hoard. Man, was that some sketchy Xacto work there. Brrrr.

Anyhoo, a WIP for sure. I already have his accessories, such as bow, sack of silver, parchment with his "wanted poster" on it, and working on his medallion or family crest necklace, like my Mrs. wears of our (Vaughan) arms with the lion rampant with the head turned. Just have to hunt down either Locksley or Hode.

Dang it, Cap - I had just about given up all notions of making my own version of Robin (since he has nowhere to fit in my 'verse), but now I may have to tackle him after all.

Excellent work on this guy - had you not said he was still a WIP, I would have assumed he was more than complete (sans archery gear.) I take it the "Persian dude" you're referring to is one of the Prince of Persia figs? I had decided to pass on them completely, but I may re-look them if there is some salvageable gear to be had.

I, too, am looking forward to the movie, despite the negative critical reception. I kinda like the idea of "Gladiator in England" anyway :D

So a pox on thee for forcing my hand into making some Robin Hood customs now. :P

Again - excellent so far - I can't imagine what more great stuff you have left in store on this guy. Any plans for Little John, Will Scarlett, etc?

Looks great, Eric. I can't believe it's still a WIP.

Thanks Dan!

If our dimes fish (a fish shaped wine bottle filled with dimes) yields enough for the movie fare, no telling how many of the characters I would be *forced* to make. I may even turn that Indiana Jones Crusade Grail knight into King Richard the Lioneart, since I just remembered him sitting in a pile with the Army of Darkness knights.

The quiver was/is posing to be the hardest thing to do, since I have but one quiver from one of the 25th figures and it would need some tweaking to get it around his torso and shoulders. The sheath at his side is actually an AOME sword sheath, but is the size of the dagger in his hand that at least looks period enough.

Got a quarter staff ready for Tuck, and if I had the chops for it, I would be begging the Mrs. for one of her ornament Angels she has that is playing a period lute, for Wil Scarlett. But I might have another avenue for that type of accessory.

Marian, on the other hand, will take some serious looking. I'll have to confer with Rob via email for that, as he knows his SW ladies far better than I and what figure could pull off what clothing.

The Persian figures are proving to be interesting, to say the least. D sent me one, that I may keep whole, and the Mrs supplied this one and the Target Exclusive, who broke immediately out of the package. Arm came away in two pieces. Bugger. You know, before I thought to make Robin Hood, looking at this guy's face, I almost went for Perseus and his crew.

I've got an extra MU Hawkeye quiver if you need it -- it's filled with sculpted arrows, but has the traditional round form to it. I have an extra bow as well, but it's a recurve (and has no string) and not a longbow, so I doubt it would work for accuracy.

For Marian, there are some decent SW Padme figures that could work as bases:

OMG, you had me at Padme Secret Ceremony. 8-O There wasn't as single thing in that entire set that I couldn't use, from the backdrop to the flowers to her entire ensemble.

Where the hell was I in 2003? Damn, the years sooo blend after 50 I swear.

Thanks immensely for the links. I often forget about Rebelscum because a long time ago I asked a Nomi Sunrider question and got information overload.

Haven't seen the movie yet either, but the figure you have created looks great! I enjoy a good period piece, and Robin Hood is an excellent choice! Kudos!

Nicely, Cap. I look forward to the finish.

Looking good their, if you want I can hook you up with a handmade English longbow that will work and have arrows and a quiver to go along with. Let me know if you are interested. Check my bow and arrow set on the Valkyrie custom. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Yeah, this is a win even if you stop here. I was having trouble fitting Zolm into how I was using the other two PoP figs I have, but you may well have solved it for me.

To hell with the movie, that Robin Hood just rocks! The outfit is very accurate to the period. Just see the Michael Praed 'Robin of Sherwood' or the 'Cadfael' series.
Like Chief, I would have thought it was finished if I hadn't seen WIP.

Found this for Hode:

and this for Locksley:

Hope they are of some use

The only way to top this is if you could make the hood functional to be up or down. Otherwise this guy is fantastic.
