Post subject:  WIP/LBC Bosmeri Girl (Wood Elf Girl)

While I am hunting for my scrimshaw tool to do Robin's stubble, I decided to work on this collaborative piece that Rob and I talked about. When I did his Dryad, he was stunned that I was able to use the heads from the Schleich Fairy and Elfen line. One because they are static figures, and two, because the price is prohibitive. When I noticed that they came out with a gal sailing on a lilypad boat with a great face, I told him that with the right body, one could make a Bosmeri gal (from the Morrowind mythology - their version of Wood Elves) What I really liked about her was her exposed single Elven ear, and the way her hair draped on the side. We got to talking about it, and decided a sort of proposed idea of seeing if I could successfully remove her wonderful head for use with a decent body, which happens to be the Jabba Slave Leia body.

She's a WIP, aside from an LBC, because in my game (through mods) the Bosmeri women have some interesting dragon and Daedric(a form of otherworldly diety-kind) tattoos that I wish to do to cover her articulation creases.

No name yet, but here she is with her happy face. The face is a bit lighter plastic, but when I do her tats, I will even off her complexion to match her body some.

It was quite the challenge to keep a steady(shaky) hand while removing her head from her seated pose. Her head was slightly turned to the side, which accounts for the slight slant on the body used.

This is what they look like in my modded game:

I'd have it sit a little lower on the neck but otherwise that is a great use of those statues and the Leia body.

That head is beautiful. Very nicely done. salvaging a piece like that is difficult, and I am duly (though no unexpectedly) impressed.

It goes well with the Leia body too. I wish that body had longer legs of course, but that's only because without mods it ends up a bit too short with the 25A scale figs in my verse. And I still get a chuckle out of the fact they gave this version a thong. lol.

Seeing you do this just made me realize I think I have something else to send your way soon. Some Schleich pieces that I know you can use for parts that I got because I couldn't pass up the clearance price. I'm glad that just came to me.

Anyway, can't wait to see the final version.

Then plucked fresh the Cap a brilliant plume...

;-)

Excellent choice on top and bottom. It's already an outstanding work.

The custom is cool but the removal of the head is perfection

Due to the cant to the side the hair forces the head to make, I would cut all the hair off and put on a RoC Cover Girl wig painted brown. It's a great idea, but sometimes them Schleich statues just don't leave you a lot of options.

I get what AV is saying, but my personal opinion is that the head tilt really gives the figure some personality. partly because it is a unique hairstyle, partly because the tilt makes it seems she is interacting with something. I like it.

Dang, still can't find my scrimshaw tool for Robin. Note to self, less packrat, more organization.

AV and pluv, in all honesty that was my problem from the start. When I test fit her head, it actually sat lower and the hair was flush with her body. When I LocTite'd the puppy in place, it rose approximately 1 mm which gives her an extended neck look. Now mind you, the Bosmeri women are lithe, and long necks are common in the game, but aesthetically, I understand what you both are saying to the letter.

I wouldn't cut off all her hair, because her hairstyle is exactly what one or two of my companion characters sport, hence my wanting to use her head. I find most GIJOE and Cobra hair accessories are devoid of really detailed finishes, such as true tresses or defined strands. About the closest I have seen on any of them is the hair from the VvVBaroness I used on the Persian gal. That one at least had defined strands. Many gashapon and shokugan figures from Japan have great hair and I have used them for the most arcane uses, such as the head hair from an Onimusha shokugan to use as a beard for my Morrowind Ash Vampire:

Thanks all around, and yes, that Leia body was given one heck of a hootiemack. The beauty is that the figure, both the Leia or my Bosmeri, have two play values since the figure came with a static bottom that can be snapped on of her lounging on a pillow in ROTJ fashion. Gives me the opportunity to pose her with a lyre for taverns, and her standing pose for fighting and adventuring.

Update: Decided to work on both evening out her face, and work on a substitue for her tiny booted feet. I measured the feet of her existing figure, and I couldn't believe that her boot feet are actually smaller than my AOME 1:24 scale figure's feet, and they are in proportion!

So here she is using the seated pose bottom that the figure pack supplies:

Next, since I actually prefer to have my fantasy woodland gals more natural and sometimes barefoot, I remembered that I had the body left over from when I did Rob's Dryad (which I used in the RE:Maelstrom diostory about poor Lisa Trevor), and sacrificed the feet on those lowers to add to this gal. Two things I noticed immediately. One, on a side view comparison with the Bosmeri in my game, the larger feet were in proportion to how they are in the game. Second, I noticed that it raised her height an entire 2 mm taller making her less stunted in appearance:
