Ancestor of Duncan, the Man-At-Arms of the House of Randor, Gladius was the first Man-At-Arms to serve the royals of Eternia. As weapons master for King Grayskull it is rumored that he first forged the Power Sword, though this is only myth and legend. During the climactic battle between the forces of Grayskull and the Snake-men, Gladius was mortally wounded in combat defending his king. After the battle was over the Goddess of Grayskull restored Gladius' life with a portion of the Power of He. In return for this gift Gladius has sworn to protect the Goddess for all eternity. Alongside Zodak, Gladius fights the forces of evil that wish to possess the greatest power in the universe.

His boots, gauntlets, armor and helmet are all painted.

When I first got hooked on Masters of the Universe Classics I decided I wanted to do at least one custom. I wanted to take Battle Armor He-Man and amp up the armor quotient. So I snagged a He-Ro figure (who I have no interest in as a character) slapped on the BA He-Man torso armor, grabbed the arm armor from an extra Man-At-Arms (which I bought just for this project) and had the look I wanted. I originally was going to use the He-Man head and make this Gladiator He-Man but I decided to make it a unique character and slapped the no lip-fur MAA head on it. The rest was just some paint and a little creativity for the backstory.

Glad you guys like him.

With the paint job, the armor pieces look really good together.

Any thoughts of painting the gold accents on the Goddess silver to match with him?

I like him. I think the head works better, than a He-Man sculpt head. The helmet goes well with the rest of the armor. (what is with the Eternians and their aversion to thigh armor?) I always think of Man at Arms as having the porn 'stache, so this makes for a good use for that head, to me.

Paint looks smooth, too. Not always easy, with silver.

If it ain't broke, take it apart and lose some of the pieces. Then, it'll be a custom.

I like it. Great new character that makes sense. The design really pops too.

It might look odd with the white "fur" that she has and also might not go with that shade of brown as well.

Superb custom, he fits perfectly with the toyline and he's a good addition to the MOTU mythos. Flawless paint work especially all that silver.

That totally looks like something Mattel would do...

If they were smart.

Nice work.

Thanks guys!

I have an extra Optikk shield that I may paint to match Gladius and give to him. Seems like a gladiator should have a shield, ya know?

I really like this guy, to the point I wish I collected this line. The color scheme is quite eye catching, and I dig the armor on only one arm, which sells the gladiator idea.
