Took some of the suggestions and played with the Classic Colors ROC Cobra Commander I did. It's still not as striking as the recolored Destro, but I think the added red and repainting the armor to have an almost skeletal rib cage detailing brings out the more interesting aspects of the mold. Played with a lot of ideas for the mask, but ultimately went with silver with the eye holes clear, the back of the helmet is blue matching the rest of him. Still not amazing or anything, but it's been fun working on him and he's a lot more interesting than the first attemp. Thanks for all the input! Now this one I'm really proud of. I thought my Miles Mayhem came out pretty well the first time around, but I decided to suck it up and try some more sculpting. The details aren't super crisp or anything, but I did add the military details to his uniform with green stuff and I think they came out pretty well. I also modified a Countdown helmet for his Viper mask, and decided that if Matt Tracker can be part of GI Joe now, then Miles can be a weapon designer for Cobra, and transplanted a Scrap-Iron cobra emblem to where (what I think was) the Venom emblem on the original was. It's not a perfect reproduction of the original helmet, but I think it's close enough to be recognizable. I'm also glad I pushed myself a little further with this one, I think the added details and accessory turned this guy into one of my favorite customs I've done! Here's the initial custom to see what I've added: |

Wow! What a difference a little tweaking makes. I love what you've done with CC, and Miles is perfect. The detailing and head choice take the cake. |

I was kinda worried when I read about the mods to Mayhem, but I have to say I really like the way it is now. And by that I mean don't change another thing or I'll break your fingers-it looks that perfect. I never was into MASK as a kid, but I was aware of the different vehicles back then. After finding some MASK comics awhile back I got to learn a bit more about MASK and even got the Matt Trakker figure. Now I can't help but wonder if there are other nuggets out there that I can learn from to have them fit in my universe. Thanx for making the figure (and I'm serious about the breaking of da fingers) As for Cobra Commander, the detail on the torso is great. The red is a bit bright for me because it looks like Destro's collar. Each member of the Cobra High Command has a certain color scheme (Zartan-purple, Serpentor-yellow, Major Bludd-brown, Baroness-black, etc). The weird thing is I like the red along the bottom of the coat, but the top I don't. That's just me. Can anyone photoshop a tiny black stripe along the very edge of the collar? I'd also like to see some of the detail of the mask done. There are four holes around the mouth that look odd-again maybe some black dots of paint there, even some around the eye/cheek section. That's all I can think of...besides wondering what paints you used for Mayhem and Cobra Commander. Those blues are awesome. |

Thanks guys! Don't worry, Miles is done! I'm always a littler nervous to push further on a custom, I've RUINED some figures in the past I was pretty happy with by trying to take them a little further... but I knew I needed to see if I could tackle the additional details on this one. It's definitely a mile-post for me, I've sculpted hair and beards, etc. but this is the first time I really did any detail work like the medals, epaulets, changed collar, and the rank chord (do those have a name?). First step into a larger world and all... but yeah, he's done now. I can't think of anything I'd add or change, I'm really happy with him. I'm using Citadel paints almost exclusively now... they make such a big difference in the quality of the custom I think. Miles and CC are mostly Shadow Grey, with Royal Blue (I believe) for Miles' helmet. Really appreciate all the input! |

Did you paint the inside of Cobra Commander's jacket or is that the blue it came with? |

Miles looks fantastic -- great work! my favorite thing here, though, is that you won't give up on your Ccommander idea -- kudos to you-- ok, i have a suggestion: i think that cobra commander needs a blue head. but i like what you've got going on with the silver -- here's my suggestion -- do they make a 'transparent' blue paint? something that will make that mask or more specifically, head, a 'metallic' blue? i love this project! |

Dark Jedi - Yes, the interior is the original blue. Joemichaels - I've got plenty of CC heads and some metallic blue paint as well as some transparent blue... I may give that a shot. Thanks again guys. |

CC is much better then Hasbro's, and even improved on your last take. Now when they came out with Mat Trekker, I said please, please make more M.A.S.K. figs, but now..... I think I'd rather pay you to do it! Any plans on tackeling some M.A.S.K. vehics? |

Both are vastly improved. If you decide to go the clear blue route you can get the paint here (as well as other clear colors). . . http://www.worldwar2aces.com/store/hobbypaint.shtml |

miles is so much more improved with the added sculpting you did and the mask, perfectly done...I wouldn't do anything else to him CC looks really nice too, I think you are very close to a perfect figure there too, on the faceplate needs a little more color tones in there but otherwise I'd stop with what you've got too Tim |

That CC really pops now. Big improvement over your first take. But Mayhem is the star here. I love his facial expression - it reminds me of 80's anime, like Golgo 13 or something similar. I want to make him now. |
