I received my POC SE a couple of weeks ago. I have to say I ordered him mostly for Timber. I think hasbro turned a very cool figure into a crap by reconverting it to Desert Assault. From desert the figure has nothing and the purple color just sucks. The prototype we saw before was much better. Anyway I stayed with some good parts like the Jacket, arms and so. So decided to work with him to make a Low Light. I had used Arctic Duke body on another custom so I had the had which matched perfectly with the vest. Repainted black that ugly purple and there you go.

Parts list:

Head: POC Arctic Duke
Torsos: POC Snake Eyes
Arms: POC Snake Eyes
Legs: POC Snake Eyes
Goggles: 25th Snow Job
Belt: 25th Wraith
Backpack: POC Arctic Duke
Gun: DTC Spirit
Snow Shoes: 25th Snow Serpent

You know, I really like that figure as a more modern/ROC/POC Low-Light, but it just seems weird that he's an arctic version with an outfit that's darker than his usual.

Agreed. Doesn't really fit arctic for me either. The snow shoes seem out of place. However, this is a great update to Lowlight really keeps the ROC/POC feel and looks very nice.

Ye I know but Low Light in other colors would be weird too. Basically I used Arctic because the head is from and arctic figure and second I needed one for my snow level eheheh

Okay, it might not throw out an arctic vibe, but it's easily identifiable as Low Light. Very nice work.

Indeed... but wouldn't it be cool? Imagine if you just put him through an inversion filter...

I like yours, and I can see that if Hasbro chose the "no new tooling" direction then this very well could have been what we got. As everyone said, it's not necessarily arctic but could be perfectly suited for "extreme cold weather" since he is wearing heavy padded clothes and has snow shoes... as to the black, well, he hunts at night and rented a cabin to shoot from so that's neither here nor there.

Gotta go against the grain here...i like it as arctic, to me it doesnt have to be white to come off as arctic. I like it alot. I find just painting white to mean artic gets boring, I tend to use space wolves grey and shadow grey for my arctic colors.

Great job on the fig gripps.

When I saw the title I thought - 'how cool is that, Lowlights clothes already look "warm" I bet he looks great in white, why didn't I ever think of......oh, he's black. Meh."

The figure looks great and I love the use of the backpack, but what besides the snow shoe's makes him more artic oriented than his original outfit?

I like the figure, not meaning to pick on you - but could you explain it further?

And if anyone wants to cast '86 Lowlight in white I'd buy him to customize as an artic figure.

This was pretty much my reaction. The original outfit is actually lighter than this and would therefore work better in the snow.

And while I tend to agree that white isn't the only color that works in the arctic (my arctic Duke and Stalker have a fair amount of green going on), for a sniper i think it's especially critical not to stick out against your environment. That's all.

I'm going to play devil's advocate for a minute here even though I agree with what most of you have said.

This looks like a good cold weather figure. The jacket and vest have a nice thermal look to them that works for cold weather operations.

As for the color, yes black is a bit out of the ordinary for arctic ops. But I see it like this. Low-Light isn't your typical arctic operator. For a true arctic sniper mission they'd call in Snow Job who is a trained marksman as well as arctic specialist. When Low-Light gets the call its to back up the snow Joes. He puts on his winter coat and mittens, and gets dropped off under cover of darkness, sets up his camo tarp and waits for the bad guys to come by then he waits for dark again and moves out. Low-Light's not a running around shooting people soldier. He's a dig a hole in the snow and wait for the baddies to come to him guy and that's how this figure works. Granted it would work better if he was in white but he's just that confident in his abilities to know he doesn't need arctic camo.

I like him a lot. He us after all a night spotter. I can see him in the dead of night ghosting over the pristine snow and blending into the skyline. Perched atop a hill with the blackest night as a backdrop or even with a whit ghille packed up ..... Just in case
