So I was frankly a lot disappointed to learn that the Python Patrol figures in this year's Con set weren't going to represent the late 2000's iteration of the idea, and specifically because it meant there would be no Bludd. So I decided to remedy that.

Rather than do a straight up Paython Patrol Bludd from the black/red/gold family of the multi-pack, I made one that would work with the retro design aesthetics of the Con figures and existing 25th Python patrol troops:

Later I'll try to get some shots of him with the Python CGs, Officer and Vipers I have for him to lead. For now, here's an action pose:

What do you guys think?

This works, and should fit right in with the Con set.

I was expecting the pattern to be on the uniform with a solid vest. the way you have it makes more sense, the grey gives off superiority of an officer whil the pattern draws attention to the vest, perfect for body armor.

And blending in with sections of yellow fence alongside gray walls. ;)

Looks good, may have to try something similar with the darker PP colors.

What do I think? I think I want you make one of those!

I wish you'd make one for me! That's fantastically awesome and VERY fitting. I'm happy you went retro style for this because it's cool to see the classic rendition Bludd in the old Python deco.

He's going to look spectacular with your Con set, make sure you post pictures of him with 'em.

Great design.

Great, simple figure with near factory quality paint apps!

I'd really like to see your take on a 25th version of the 2000ish TRU set.

I really like the design in general, but I'm especially impressed with the pattern on the chest armor. That must have been quite a pain but it looks perfect.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words (and the sarcastic ones).

The chest design was a royal pain. I tried three different times to paint it and finaly gave up. What you see here represents a lot of evenly cut strips of yellow plastic adhesive applied to a still tacky overcoat of green. The design is symmetrical and not going anywhere, so I feel like it was worth the three hours it took to pull off.

As for doing a tribute to the 2000's era Python Patrol, I'm sure i will do Bludd at least at some point. But I'm going to need to work my way up to it after this guy. That pattern is just not easy to get right.

Ditto, nice addition to your Bludd ranks. The lines on his chest-piece are flawless.

Here's a group shot to tide folks over until the Con set arrives:

The green of Bludd's vest isn't an exact match for the Officer's web gear, but I'm going to wait and see how close it is to the Troopers' shirts before I think about trying to lighten it up.
