After looking at several of ya'lls' futuristic figures, I decided to make a couple of my own. Here goes, and let me know what you think... Pendulum This battle hardened Marine Sergeant patrols the skies over his former home, the city of Chicago, which was leveled in the first wave of attacks. After days... weeks... months of being alone, Pendulum thought he was going mad... that is until he found an unexpected "friend" (if thats what you call it) in A.A.R.Un (Armored Android Responder Unit, also called Aarun), a warbot created to fight off the attacking hordes that wiped out the majority of the US and its people. Now very few people remain in the Chicago area, and Pendulum has taken it upon himself to unite them, or die trying; Aarun will fight at Pendulum's side, seeing him as the last, or at least one of the last, of those "he" was made to protect. Pendulum wears armor that is made of an alloy which is super strong, but also light weight, which makes it possible for him to fly and move about with unbelievable speed and flexiblity; his battle axe is made from the same alloy, making it easy for him to swing one-handed, yet it has the razor sharpness to cut through other metals like a hot knife through butter! On a side note: since finding Aarun, Pendulum has found a few of the survivors of Chicago, and has since started moving them West, trying to get them to Denver, one of the few cities he has had contact with other people. Eventually, his goal is to get to California, where the resistance is rumored to be gathering.... A.A.R.Un A.A.R.Un is short for Armored Android Responder Unit, a prototype that was created to fight off the superior strength and weaponry of the invaders who were conquering the US; however, he was only one, and his creator was eliminated before anymore units could be made. Left in stasis, Aarun was never field tested, although he had been fully programmed for the purpose of war. When the man known as Pendulum found Aarun, he turned the defunct android on in a last, deperate attempt to save himself from three drones that were hunting for and had stunned him. To his surprise, Aarun took out the drones, making short work of the trio, who didn't have a chance to call for back up. When Aarun turned to face Pendulum, wanting to make sure he was unharmed, the man stood paralyzed, thinking that he would be the android's next target; however, Aarun stopped and stood at what appeared to be attention, seeming to wait for a command from the man. Pendulum picked up on this right away, and simply told him, "Follow me." Aarun has been doing so ever since. After his awakening, Aarun's learning program kicked in, making him in some ways like a child, who is constantly wanting to know more about his creator and his own existence. Pendulum does his best to educate him, collecting any form of material with historical records or significance to help fill the android's memory banks. In addition to learning about Earth's history, Aarun has learned about battle strategies, fighting styles, and weaknesses in the bodies of just about every living creature known to man; if you're on the wrong side of a fight with him, you will lose... |

both are really nice, I like the parts selection on them. Isn't it nice to do a custom that's not your norm sometimes? |

Thanks for the comment, and yes, it is fun to make something different every once in a while! Tankster wrote: these are so awsome man the parts choice down to the paint love the backstorys also man!! Much appreciated feedback. And to let you know, it was some of your stuff that pushed me over the edge to start working on some post-apocalyptic type figures... I just haven't figured out who the "enemy" is yet for my figures, but I imagine them as superior in strength and armament, and advanced in technological aspects, but not nearly as unified as the remanent of survivors, which gives them a fighting chance... Thanks again, guys! -Todd |

I a sure that probably everyone knows this but I must ask. What ax is that from, I love axes and that one is major cool. Plus I love the figures. Love that they have some new sculpt parts in there as well. And that AARUN last pick holding that head is awesome. |

It has been passed around to several of my customs that were works in progress, but I finally found the application I wanted it used in here... The head shot was a last minute idea, as I had the Emperor Palpatine sitting without his hood (hijacked for an upcoming Zartan; stolen recipe)... I just thought it would look like A.A.R.Un had freshly removed it from his shoulders, and was looking him in the eye as his life-force faded... Thanks to all for the feedback! -Todd |

Those look great. I can't help thing about the line in Hamlet, "Alas poor Yurik, I knew him well Horatio," When looking at the last pic of Aarun. |

Well, now you have me thinking of the 3 Stooges, the episode they did where they thought they blew up their donkey, Yurik... Moe quotes the same line from Hamlet... -Todd |
