This custom was a total impulse build. I happened to pick up an MOC Scalpel/Sgt. Hacker pack to put the finishing touches on a second Scalpel custom (made a more accurate version for myself before I put the prototype up on eBay) and, after I cannibalized Scalpel, I had that Sgt. Hacker sitting there. So I started to wonder what he might look like as a 25th/ME-style figure. This is where that idea took me: Attachment: The head may be a placeholder. I tried the original, but it just didn't look right on this figure. I think my favorite accessory for him is the backpack, which stores a laptop and some tools: Attachment: What do you guys think? |

I think that's really good! The original figure was enormous, he'd probably have been 6'7" in real life, and while such large folks can be IT pros (I'm one at 6'5"), it doesn't really fit the image. This one fits the bill much better. |

Solid choice of parts, and that Lamprey makes a good base. I'm not sold on the vest for some reason. There might be too much blue. Unfortunately, I can't think of a suitable replacement. |

Great great great figure. Makes me want to take a stab at him. Very cool. |

Is that hacksaw? I'm not sure that's what they mean by hacker. |

pluv wrote: Is that hacksaw? Heh...yeah. Since the original figure appears to have one on his chest, I figured I might as well stick one in his toolkit. And I agree, there's a little much blue on the vest but it was really the closest thing I could find. If something better comes along, I may swap it out. Glad you guys dig the figure overall. Thanks for the comments, all. |

I like the blue. It breaks up the gray nicely without overpowering it. And I like the head too. Has a Sigma 6 Hi-tech look to it that I like. pluv wrote: Is that hacksaw? I'm not sure that's what they mean by hacker. The hacksaw makes sense actually. How else is he going to get into those big metal T1 trunkline boxes? Explosives are nice and get the job done but sometimes you need a quieter approach. |

I think it is great, is that just regular Hacker arms? also I loved that he had "tools" like the hack saw since the IT stuff he'd be doing probably involves a lot hacking and slashing and breaking into things. complete with the climbing gear I can see him as the guy breaking into extensive enterprises to literally hack into their systems. Along with someone like mainframe. The other joe It guys like Firewall, Damen, hi Tech and that other dude, are the guys back at base defending, or working on coding for vehicles or precision munitions or whatever. |

danielb wrote: ...is that just regular Hacker arms? Nope. At least not entirely. The Hacker arms are super long. I cut off the armbands and gloves and adapted them to work on the Lamprey arms. Had to do some mods to the Lamprey arms to accept the new (old) parts, but I feel like it was worth the effort. Glad you dig him. |

The work on this one really shows. The glasses look a bit cartoonish, but not bad. The use of the vest is perfect and it's cool how switching the colors gives it an entirely different feel. |
