From: Guardsman Faces, stationed undercover in the Congo
"They're calling themselves the Coil these days. Cobra Commander, if we're even bothering calling him that anymore, just can't let go of the whole snake thing. Of course, as we know, the real Cobra Commander died sometime before the Cobra Island Civil War broke out. It's fairly common knowledge these days even among the Coil members that the current 'Commander' is an overly ambitious former guardsman designated Fred VII. I've been tracking this slimeball all over the damn world, ever since he managed to slither off of Cobra Island just before his forces surrendered. He seems to have set up a permanent base camp here in the Congo. I don't know what he's planning, but it's something big. And before you ask, there's no way in hell I'll ever be able to get close enough to him to eliminate him. The guy's paranoid. I mean seriously paranoid. He's got a new suit of armor, too. He calls it the Serpent Slayer Armor. He looks like a damn spaceman in it. He makes no qualms about the fact that he designed it for one purpose; surviving a one-on-one battle with our Emperor."

"Spies are everywhere. I must remain vigilant at all times. At least my Serpent Slayer armor is complete. I know the men think it's a waste of resources, but I honestly don't care. Serpentor isn't going to rest until one of us it dead by the other's hand. I shamed him by escaping and denying him a full victory on Cobra Island. Well, if the King Snake wants a fight, he'll get it. The Serpent Slayer suit is three times as durable as my old armor, as well as lighter, and more flexible. The jetpack could still use some work, but at least it's functioning. The energy projectors in the hands and the radial EMP pulse detonator are the important parts, and those are both working perfectly. I almost look forward to when I finally get to see the 'emperor' again...."
