I first saw the movie 'Eve of Destruction' about 10 years ago. I enjoyed it then, and still enjoy it today. It makes a lot more sense than the Terminator' movies, especially numbers 3 and 4. A good example of the scientists/military saying "Can we....?" instead of "Should we....?"

In the movie, EVE-8 is a battlefield/surveillance android programmed with the memories of her creator, Dr Eve Simmons. On a routine test run, she is shot by bank robbers and goes into battlefield mode. This causes conflict with her memory programmes and she starts acting out Dr Simmons' fantasies and life, causing mayhem and bloodshed along the way, ultimately resulting in her onboard tactical nuke becoming active on a 24 hour countdown.

I was watching the film last week and started thinking about making a custom. As I went through the parts in my head, I realised I had them all in my fodder box, and how easy it would be to put it together. I left the Mary Jane legs unpainted as they are a good representation of dark tan tights:







Head: Golden Compass Mrs Coulter
Upper body/arms: MU Black Widow
Legs: MU Mary Jane
Jacket: KotCS Mutt Williams
Skirt: black rubber party balloon

Ok, maybe she's wearing stockings but even then her legs aren't going to be that much darker than the rest of her skin. It doesn't have to match, but it needs to be closer. I only say that because the rest of the custom is so good and it is the only thing keeping it from being perfect.

I think the party balloon skirt works awesome, but I've been told that material will "rot" much faster than other plastic and rubber and can wreck your custom. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but I'd hate to see it kill a great custom like this!

It's a shame too, because it works far better than "soft goods" at this scale, in my opinion.

I do remember the movie, nice rendition of her. I like it.

The good thing is that if the rubber does start to deteriorate, I can get the figure apart easily enough for a quick fix.

This is a great custom. I agree there is something "off" about the legs though... by my
eye I'm not sure the color is off but that her lower legs are pretty stocky.
