This custom caused me to say two things that were firsts for me. First is "I really could use a belt sander." and the other is "I just painted nipples on a figure."

This is a custom I've had in the back of my head ever since drbindy posted his EXCAL version of Rock 'n' Roll. A surfer version was something I hadn't done yet and I wanted to see if I could pull it off. The hardest part was crafting the surfboard. Its still not perfect but I'm happy with it. Its simply a couple pieces of styrene glued together, shaped and the edges and points smoothed out with Fixit. I wanted to paint some detailing on it but nothing came to mind so I threw a couple ROC G.I. Joe logos on it (the GI JOE logo is on the bottom but I forgot to shoot it). I'm really happy with how he came out. I'd eventually like to implant some magnets in his feet and the board to pose him but for now he'll just have to balance.

Head, hands: Broken Arrow Toys
Torso, legs: MU Namor
Upper arms, feet: XOW Weapon X
Lower arms: 25th Shipwreck
Surfboard: scratchbuilt

This Adventurer self-custom started with the custom torso from Asphalt. The rest was just putting together the parts and painting it up. As usual I biffed the eyes but the goggles I used to cover them up I think work for the figure. This fills a spot in my self-custom collection that I didn't know I needed to fill and I'm happy with it.

Head: Slayer Designs
Torso: Asphalt custom
Arms: ROC General Hawk
Legs: 25th Duke
Goggles: 25th Firefly
Backpack: 25th Range Viper
Weapons: Marauder Inc.

This Captain America armor is a result of some fortunate timing. First I got the Vibranium Armor figure from prozac and started trying to figure out how to paint it more accurately for Cap. Then I saw the wings on the MU Namor figure's ankles and it all came together. I glued the wings to the helmet, applied some paint and now I have a Captain America armor that I can be happy with... until Hasbro puts a more accurate one out.

They all look nice, but that Rock-N-Roll is too cool! I love that he actually looks like a body builder here, which is something that his Hasbro incarnations always seemed to lack... Great work, and I might just be stealing that RnR recipe, or at least making a similar one...

yep, RnR is my favorite. Started and updated version of my own surfer McConnel a ways back, but he was going to be a runt, scale wise, and haven't revisited it yet. I like the scale here though.

Adventurer Stranger looks cool. Part of me says go with khaki/tan pants though to de-militarize him a touch. But right now he looks cool and versatile both.

Rock n Roll. is very impressive. Does he match up,ssize-and-frame-wise with your more clothed versions?

I like Surfer RnR a lot for such a simple looking custom.

However, the Cap armor is bugging me for two reasons. I love that you put the star on his chest, but I think it needs to have tighter lines like the star on the shield. Maybe a decal would help with this? Also, the wings kind of throw me off as they are organic looking next to all that technology. Otherwise, I love where you went with it.

EDIT: I said decal, but I meant stencil. Derp.

Really like that RnR, simple & effective. Looks like a factory job to boot. Nice job on the Adventurer. As you're one of the few people I've seen use it, what is your opinion on the torso design & sculpt-wise?

I was expecting a wetsuit body for RnR, not He-Man. But boy does that work better. The head is good but I'm curious if turning it into wet down hair might fir this custom better.

The self custom looks fantastical. The detailing and hankerchief really set it apart.

I'm with Billy on the Caqp armor star and wings. For the wings the only thing I can think of is stryrene to make them look more mechanical.

All 3 look pretty good...but a couple small tweeks will really set them off.

I think Rock N Roll's board is too small...I guess it's all up to interpretation...but I would have figured RnR for a Long-boarder.

I don't like the 6 point star on the Cap-armor...a 5 point star would be more appropriate. If you're having a difficult time cleaning up the line you may want to look into a scrap-booking punch You can punch the star design out of masking tape and then use the tape as a stencile...you just need to find the right sized punch.

If you looked at the side shot of him you'd notice that the 6th point is actually glare.

I really like all three. As for the surf board, what about using some foot pegs from one of the stands, or finding a way to make some foot pegs from scratch? Or maybe some sort of stirrup?

RNR is really nice I like him alot, great paint apps and would fit in with all your other RNR's
Self custom is nice looking too and I think dennis has a great idea with the tan pants over green
Cap is good I like the headwings actually, the part I don't is the red upper arms but I see the other version hasbro made is red too, would look better blue with just the red on the lower arms

The self-custom is my favorite, but they all rock.
