As I start really getting active in customizing, each of my figures are practice in the tips and techniques learned here. So this is my first run at a custom head mod from a Bbi figure. There are Alley Vipers, then there's Grainger and his Gorillas. . . by DARKWIND01, on Flickr I humbly present my Alley Viper "Handler". . . Terrance H. Grainger An Ex-Marine officer who turned his skills to the merc life after feeling the U.S. Govt. wasn't being tough enough on the world stage. After a chance encounter with Firefly, he decides to take on the Cobra challenge. Being appalled at the training for the average blue shirts, the BS from the Officer corps and the brainwashed Crimson Guard he makes it his goal to become an Alley Viper. Doing just that and more by being the first to kick down a door and upstage the rest of his squad by charging ahead and taking over entire floors of a target building, alone. He was given a shot at being a leader and true to form proved to be best in his class. "Think Tackleberry, mix in Gunny Highway, the mouth of R. Lee Ermrey and you've got Grainger to a T." |

Yeah, that's pretty sweet. Nice backstory, too - can't wait to see more! |

This one took a while since I don't get much time at home to do my customs any more. So lately I've been customizing in my truck while driving the lower 48 states. (LOL) That and the fact that I'm still pretty new at this, I think he looks sweet. Just gotta get some spray clearcoat for the paint to seal it, add string for the hat to hang around his neck, put a holster on his leg and a harness for his SAW.

Next up: "Backseat" Thomas J. Barnes Dossier: -US Air Force (E-5), air crewman (S.A.R., Forward Air Observer, Combat Medic and Ranger Qualified) -Small aircraft mechanic (fixed and rotary wing) -Marksman (small arms and rifle) Home: Indianapolis, Indiana Friendly, caring, cheerful, and a comedian. Also very professional. The kind of guy who will be the first to raise the spirits of all around, no matter the situation. Jack of all trades, very smart, determined. Reason with the company: The loss of a good friend during a SAR op (behind enemy lines) in the war drove him from the service. The direct result of bad intell, his team missed the rendevous with the crewman they were sent to recover. All that remained were scraps of flightsuit and her severed head. "I will NEVER lose another soul on my watch cause some punk-ass suit in Washington wants to save face on the world stage, especially if you're a friend. If we ride out together, we ride back the same way. . . TOGETHER. . ."

Another "18 wheeler" custom. Very LBC, but again I'm very happy with the result. Head: Duke Body: Clutch Armor: Our War fig (medic) Small arms: various POC figs M4/203: Bbi It was the Clutch flightsuit-like body that started this custom. Also my Blackhawk needed a dedicated crewman that looked like he could hold his own on a doorgun or on foot anywhere. Thus 'Backseat' was born.

ok, for some simple parts/accessories swapping & a minimal amount of paint, that Vixen is a perfect custom -- fantastic!! |

Nice work, great start into the hobby. Some of those poses of Vixen with the launcher are hilarious! |
