So back in the day, I was a pretty big new-sculpt booster. I know purists were appalled by the proportions and the lack of a standard buck, but I thought the line had some fantastic character ideas and designs.

Case in point -- Cross Hair:

Like Falcon and Footloose before him, this guy had a generic versatility that just really appealed to me, and his parts inspired more than a few new-sculpt customs.

Once the new articulation/construction arrived with the 25th, I knew my love for JvC, SpyTroops and VvV would have to fade away. But I can try to recapture some of the fun:

I think I'm going to give him a neckerchief, but other than that I'm not sure he needs anything else.

What do you guys think?

Love it! Honestly one of the better customs I've seen in a while (not to take anything away from what's been shown recently. I just really like this one). Fine work, my friend.

Great work! I too was a fan of Crosshair, and this does that character justice. He even kind of has that aw shucks face that Crosshair had.

Very cool.

I like how you closely replicated his look without reusing his classic gear.

Very nice tribute to a great character. That's one thing the ST/ VvV lines did was bring some new blood to the character pool.

new sculp had alo of grea new characters and crosshairs was one of them.
Nice job on him besides the BH vest I don't like besides for BH, if you had his original that'd be cool.
What is the base figure btw

Looks like this year's con exclusive Wet-Suit with Kickstart's head and some adapted Snow Job forearms.

Great job Spin! The camo looks well done, and the figure really has a Cross Hair vibe to it.

I think he looks awesome. I love the headsculpt and the modded forearms particularly.

I have to agree with Tanstoys though that the Beachhead vest doesn't really look right (the SMG mag pouches and stowed beret seem kind of out-of-place). Maybe the Pit Trooper/PoC Spirit tac vest instead?

Simply beautiful job on a great character that will most likely (sadly) never get a proper figure from the current line. I hope the Cross Hair I make is half as good as this one. I salute you sir.

Very cool! I've been brainstorming a way to LBC a Cross Hair for a while, but this works quite well. I agree on the vest not being perfect, though. And I think the addition of a neckerchief will really set it off. That Resolute Zartan rifle is such a cool gun, nice choice.

Thanks, guys.

I can't take credit for the camo as that was the Club's doing (Jay nailed the parts list).

The real work done on this guy was the lower arms, hands and adapting the head (which I picked specifically for the above referenced "aw shucks" look).

I'll definitely be adding the neckerchief.

As for the vest, I may look for a Cross Hair original to replace it, but for now I'm okay with it as he's the only guy in my collection currently wearing any version of it (my Beachhead uses the more traditional comic pack vest).

I like it. After you switch it for the original's vest please retake a pic.

Well Spin, if you need a Crosshair vest, I do have one handy that I've not done anything with.

Very sharp figure man. You hit a HR for sure. My problem with that vest isn't that you picked it to go for this look - it's a sound choice. My problem is that they even made it that way at all. It looks more like a fishing vest to me. And with the necessary hat for this figure, I can't get past that visual, personally.
