Post subject:  Castle Destro Dio/Display : Project Update 03/05/16

This is a project I started sketching out & collecting stuff for as far back as 2004.
Ideally, this will hold quite a bit of my collection & customs in a relatively small footprint.

The base materials are a 4-shelf set from wal-mart (plus an extra one I had) and some cut-to-fit hardboard from home depot.
*note: the back pieces are cut 1/2" shorter than the walls, due to the construction of the plastic shelves.

I intend to get all the major construction & priming done before the snow flies, and involve my kids as much as possible moving forward.
They've been excluded so far, due to using the table & chop saw ... and the walls have a coat of acrylic primer on them

All but one of the levels will have a hardboard backing

I've cut some of the supports in half, to have different heights of levels

Eventually, I plan to have:
1. vehicle storage
2. MARS workshop / BAT factory
3. Mindbender Lab / detention cells
4. Armory
5. Destro (throne room?) (communications center?)
6. Roof - Landing pad & parapet artillary
7. Fold out landing pad/artillary/sliding walls

Thoughts or suggestions thus far?

Very ambitious.

I've wanted to do something like this for a whil, but I keep getting the shelving and just arranging pre-existing playsets and dio pieces on it.

Your plan looks good so far.

Can't wait to see it take more complete shape.

Wow, the ideas used here would SEEM to be obvious, but the way you're putting them together is genius. Wished I had thought to cut down those poles back when I was doing this...

I like the the idea for the structure (a simple idea to an easier storage) and all this pieces to create a high tech space for labs, workshops ....

I'm looking forward to seeing this complete. Are you planning on putting aging, moss, etc. on the castle to give it an ancient look?
