// I had a big write up for him, but the internet ate it ... basically, he's another fodderbox baby, except I did go buy a pegwarmer arctic destro, just for the goggles ... only to find they didn't fit, which is why I cut the strap off. Luckily, the goggles still 'pinch' enough to hold them in place ...

Thoughts?

I've been fiddling around with some bare bones customs myself, and I'm a big fan of The Phantom, so this is great.

How did you make the belt, and can we get a closer look at that?

awesome good job

This is great. Stuff like this is why I wish I had the funds to buy dozens of that SE/Stalker figure.

And I even like the color.

Thanks for the kind comments, Gents!

Lance, I didn't even know who the base fig was -- thanks for the ID!

as an additional note, I did do one new thing on this custom:

I wanted to prime the entire figure black to have a uniform basecoat for painting.

The head was already black, but it was the factory 'nothing sticks to me!' black -- and I didn't want to lose the factory eye paint -- so I swiped a bit of the kid's play-doh.
I formed it to fit right up to the edge of the mask. After letting it dry overnight, the play-doh had shrunk & turned stiff, easily coming off the head & leaving the factory eyes intact.

That's a killer idea for painting masked heads. The figure ain't too shabby either. ;) This look adds a bit of Danger: Diabolik-style charm to the character. And I like the shade of purple you used, it's perfect.

Good to see someone else appreciates this character, and that is a very modern, realistic look for him.

You can do this with Elmer's Glue too. dab or paint it on, let it dry, once painted you can then just catch the edge of the glue with a finger or exacto blade and the glue comes right off.
