With only Galaxy Ranger Doc left on my to do table, I decided to take a crack at the last redo of existing customs I needed to address. Supes was never one of my favorites, although the new movie could change that, so I was in no rush to revamp him. The original was ok but looked out of place in my Customverse. Decided to hand paint the symbol this time around. I'll be tweaking this one for awhile but it's in the ballpark of where I want it. I have a second (using my old custom) in the works! Stay tuned!

I say leave the black outline, and for freehand, that's pretty damn good.

I actually like the unfinished paint on the torso too, it reminds me of the "power cosmic" costumes you get in the marvel Universe....

Power Cosmic Superman ftw.

Don't touch the black outline. This is going to be sweet when it is finished.

Okay, I like the shade of blue that you have chosen and I dont have a problem with the black outline. However I would tighten the "S" a little more and connect your blue shirt to your cape. Very nice so far though.

I've never read a Superman comic, when and how did he lose his hands?

Looks good, keep the black outline.

I would normally say no to a black outline for purist sake, but I think it looks really good here. Nice work so far. And yes the Superman 'S' is a delicate symbol to freehand. Lookin good!

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I'd lose the black on the symbol.

Off to a really good start.

The real problem is that you bring it down onto the abdomen. The bottom point should be right there at the edge of the ribcage, imho. I don't recall any artist (that I like, at least) ever drawing the S so it comes down onto the sixpack, and it'll look *awful* if you actually move the torso joint in any direction at all.

But, keeping the black outline is cool once you re-do it.

Also, drill out the sockets on the upper thigh piece so the legs will move inwards by a couple millimeters. I dunno why they molded them ball sockets so shallow, but it's anatomically incorrect and it makes the legs fall off too easily.

Went through that problem on dry runs several times, but more than 50 percent (closer to 75) of the artists have the symbol dip to the crown of the abdomen, but I don't move mine so good for me. But I definitely see where you are coming from on this and I will be taking a crack at another symbol set higher and wider when I get a second Steve Rogers.

Agreed on the legs, drives me nuts lol!
