Post subject:  Castle Destro / Under construction

I always wanted a castle for Destro and the Iron Grenadiers but could never find one that was just right , So I decided to make one . This is made totaly from styrofoam . I used loctite for adhesive and after all the details are done Ill use polyblend non sanded grout for strength and to give it the castle look . Now the only problem is so far its 2 ft by about 2 ft to make a whole castle in Joe scale is just way too big . Telll me what you think !! Happy holidays

This looks VERY promising. I'm especially intrigued based on the use of styrofoam. I have a ton of it myself, but I've always understood it to be difficult to work with. What you have so far looks great. Any tips you can give along the way, with progress shots, would be appreciated.

Thanks Dr its not that hard its just really messy because it tends to break apart . Ive been using a super sharp utility knife and a hotwire foam cutter . Ive learned alot from this guy at lizard-landscapes.com he has great tutorials and on youttube hes lizardlandscapes . Granted his stuff is all for lizard, but he has pyramids and castles and everything also Beckywheeler on you tube the both of these people have awesome tutorials . I subscribe to both of them

ok cool, I'll check those out. The other thing is that something about that corridor with the stairs underneath reminds me a lot of one of the earlier Call of Duty battle arenas ;)

That looks cool so far.
There was that person on Terrordrome or Hisstank that build the Terrordrome, Flagg, Defiant Launcher, and Joe Base out of Styrofoam as well... http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-c ... drome.html pics of the Terrordrome anyways..

Sorry rafexemt I didn't want to make you quit... Just help inspire you and give you ideas is all....Like I said yours look good so far so keep going with it. Don't know if you saw viewtopic.php?f=15&t=31458 mentioned before either.. combine them both and it'd look great I bet.

You know what will make this thing rule - get some plaster of paris or some compound to cover the foamcore to make it look like stone - then it can accept spray paint and other stuff. It'll also make it crazy strong.

@ Roque No Man Im just kidding. THat guys work is awesome means I gotta step up my game, that link was great Bro!!
@ Macrossmaster once I get everything glued and mounted and set up Im using polyblend non sanded grout to coat the castle, its sandable and workable while drying and it dries rock hard and strong it just makes it really heavy .You guys are great , Thanks for the support I hope you all had a great New years !!!!
