Hi everybody,

I'm a new member, but I've been a lurker on these forums for a couple of years now. Seeing all of the hard work and creativity on display has inspired me to take a crack at some custom work. Most of the customs I've made are from the Marvel universe, but I often end up using Joe parts. Any feedback and/or critiques are greatly appreciated.

First up is Punisher. I wanted a version of the character that was closer to how he appeared throughout the "Punisher MAX" series. I found that Renegades Duke was the perfect base figure. He received a full repaint. The head is from the second version of the Marvel Universe Punisher, which I think looks pretty good, if a little over-sized. I went with blue on the pants for a more realistic look, but I'm not sure if I'll be keeping them that color. Thanks for looking!

Nice!
This is a "proof of concept" figure for me. I wanted to make a movie style Punisher using this same recipe. Turns out great. Thanks!

First off,Welcome to Joecustoms! This looks very good for a first outing with clean paint apps and a great looking recipe. I think you could change the paints to a flat black,But it really isn't needed.Keep up the great work and post more soon,I'll be watching.

I also think black is more fitting for the character. Not necessary but I think it makes him more punisher-ish. Good parts combo.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. I'm waffling on changing the pants to black. On the one hand, I like how the blue provides some contrast to the knee pads and leg pouch. On the other hand, he may look too "off-model". If I decide to change it, I will definitely post it.

Next up are my Red Skulls. The first is pretty minor. The head is from an awesome sculpt by Hunter Artworks.

My second Red Skull is the Ultimate version of the character. I was inspired by Vanishing Point's custom:

The recipe is similar, using Gung Ho as a base. I switched the arms with Unimax Fearless Forces arms. Unfortunately there's no wrist articulation, but anything is better than those God awful Gung Ho arms. The head is of course from the movie Red Skull.

Two more wins here! As for wrist articulation,That's an easy fix. Just lop off above the wrist.Use a Dremel tool and a small bit to make a whole the glue a peg to your wrist from another figure and there you go.Also that movie version head works perfectly for The Ultimates version of the Skull.

Welcome aboard!

I like everything you've done here - I especially like how the HAW head looks on Skully. Frank looks great "Joe-ified" - but the head is sitting a little weird for me - likely because of the vest collar and the way the neck post & socket line up. I'm also thinking that the MU head is a little too big for the Joe body, but can't think of a suitable smaller replacement.

But like Spin said - that logo on the vest is awesome - have you considered putting black lines on it for the "teeth", or do you think that might look funny?

Looking forward to seeing more stuff! :D

That second Skull is downright creepy intimidating.

Looks like a physical match for Cap almost.
