Nice characters, it's good to see that he's interested in GI Joes enough to make his own figures.

Looking good, the paint on serpent slayer looks pretty smoothe, I just think he needs a belt

Exterminator looks like he could use another coat of paint or two on his pants.

Thanks, guys. I just read your comments to him and he said, "cool." When I read the comment about more paint on the second one, he said, "okay but not today. I want to play with him."
He's also wanting to make more customs because it's neat making his own toys. He also thinks it's cool other people can see what he's made.
all day on TV has been GI Joe, with him watching ROC and the DVDs of the cartoons I have.

Really good work, tell him to keep practicing and I'm sure he'll soon be the customizer of the month! :-D

Awesome job. I like the thought process behind each, and if these are his first ever customs, then it is even more impressive.

The fun thing about making self customs is that every time you get your hands on some better fodder parts, you get to start all over again. lol. Nice job on these.

I like both characters. The second one reminds of a Remco figure I have.

Thanks, guys. I was having to post from phone yesterday, so it was a bit difficult to reply, but he was wanting me to comment back. Heh, he'd been on me for almost month to post the pictures of them, because he likes looking at the customs on here and wanted to share his.
These were the first customs he's ever done. He's one of those kids that can't sit still for 5 minutes, unless it's in front of a video game and his mom is wanting him to find other interests besides video games, so I shared my Joes with him. First time he came over to my place and saw the Joe room, he freaked out. He just couldn't believe one guy could have so much. I insist my collection is small and there's a lot I don't have, and he just won't believe it. It's funny, he won't sit still for 2 minutes if he's supposed to be reading or doing homework, or something along those lines, but if I put him to work painting a custom, he'll sit for hours trying to get the paint just like he wants it. He spent probably an hour and a half painting that Serpentor body blue, trying to get it even and was disappointed the shoulders started chipping.
Anyway, he's a big Joe fan now and is anxious for the new movie, and to make more customs. The good thing about the self-custom is that, he wears glasses and is embarrassed by it. So I wanted to find a 'cool' head with glasses or some sort of eyewear. I came up with the Chap Mei head and he thought it was great that there was an action figure with glasses.

Oh, and I was supposed to post bios for them, but didn't want to do a bunch of typing on my phone, so here are the bios (his words, as best I can remember them):

Serpent Slayer -
Real name - Unknown
He's a former Cobra trooper who decided he didn't want to be bad anymore, so he joined GI Joe. He's now a good assassin that the Joes send in to take out Cobras secretly.

Exterminator -
Real name - Colton <His last name (he likes the fact that his first name and the "Original Joe's" last name are the same)>
He's an elite soldier that can use any gun and drive or fly any vehicle. He single-handedly takes down groups of Cobras and is almost like Snake-Eyes except he's not a ninja.

That's awesome.
It's always great to see a kid using his imagination to create his own characters.

Love his reply about the second coat of paint: "Not today, I want to play with him."
Brilliant.

Heh, yeah. The living room was a big battle royale yesterday. He had all his Joes out and I was Cobra. Funny thing was, he let me kill Snake Eyes, but I wasn't allowed to kill his character. While we were playing, he said, "You should take a picture of this for those guys to see!" I told him pictures were just for customs, not to show people playing. He said, "Oh." then proceeded to try to blow up my HISS tank.
