  • This section is for honest critique of the work shown here. Members are encouraged to give and accept non-confrontational constructive criticism as well as adoring praise and everything in between.
  • In order to show case everyone's work equally, please post multiple customs on the same day into a single thread. If you have a lot of pictures of your work you may have to add them to a separate post within that thread.
  • Please do not link to a sale thread or to eBay from your critique thread. This section isn't to be used to market your finished work. The Market Place section is better suited for that purpose.

 Post subject: BARON SOONTIR FEL - Hero of the Empire's 181st Imperial Figh

Finished, painted as requested - I am VERY happy w/ the outcome & this is now my favorite all-time custom that I have done...

The Galactic Empire's deadliest pilot to ever strap into the cockpit of a TIE Interceptor/In... Baron Soontir Fel.

RECIPE : RedFaction Darius head - the helmet is a modded ClonePilot (Oddball I think???) w/ the lower mask from a SW Infinities (Luke/Mara comic 2pk.) Luke helmet & goggles from a GI Joe fig w/ the rear mounted canister from my fodder bin - the recipe is pretty simple... Upper body & upper arms & leg straps from Blu-Ray edition ESB 4 pk. Snowspeeder Luke, lower body/hips from GI Joe SnakeEyes (not sure what version) Lower arms & legs from GI Joe AlleyViper, feet from a Marvel movie Thor & belt from a Marvel movie CaptainAmerica & replaced the neck & ball from another CaptainAmerica fig w/ minor sculpt to blend the two).
I know my head choice is a bit of a departure from how he is normally depicted (reference pic), but, I wanted a more "battle hardened/military" look...

I'm not sold on the head.

It seems in every comic appearance I've seen him in, he has a goatee and almost a receding hairline. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Soontir_Fel

I love the body, the paint apps are spot on.

Yea, I feel ya on the head & I debated on doin' a more traditional look, but in the end, I decided to stick w/ the slick military look... may swap an alternate head when I find a suitable one...

I love it. I checked in the other day when it was a WIP, and I liked the scale and articulation he was going to have. The paints went on great. Really dig the look. You should leave up the WIP so you can see the work you put it.

Only critique for me at all would be the eyes. center the iris/pupils a bit better, and maybe a bit smaller, and I'd be sold. I like the head actually. You could always give him a bit of a stubble goatee and hairline if you wanted to imply it's just a different look for the normal version.

I appreciate the comments guys... added the recipe in the initial post... I think I like the look (battle hardened/militaristic) & that is how he will stay...
