Just a little bit of sculpting left to do on this guy, and I can finish painting him. This was inspired by seeing mikomasting's Duke, so it will have some similarities. His was just that cool. After I carved his shirt tails off, It made his belt look like it was riding kind of high. I sculpted a waist band below the belt, to avoid the "Urkel pants" look. I'm hoping the addition of some pouches will help, too. I tried to match the color of the movie Duke boots I originally wanted to use, but now I'm thinking I may repaint them in a tan, with just a hint of that salmon tone. Haven't decided. The head, helmet, goggles, and the backpack I'll be using are all castings. Those 25th Duke arms work pretty well, with a decent set of gloved hands. Still need to mod the bandolier. |

Thanks, guys. Anybody else think his neck look kind of short, with that head? I may have to give him an extension. |

Na, the neck looks okay in that pic. |

Are you going for the classic look or the Hall of Fame version? Something about this screams Hall of Fame to me, which would be awesome. |

Leaving the neck as is makes it easier, for me. I'm just going for an update, but I want to keep some of that classic look. Duke V1 was my first Joe, and it's my favorite look for him. |

pretty handsome there! just modded my duke (again) and went with Oreobuilder's recipe, but this one's pretty awesome as well. maybe find a way to either lengthen the arms or reduce the leg height. probably the lower legs. |

I like this look but what would really set this part is giving him a swappable modern vest/harness. I think that would bring him closer to an ultimate Duke. |

Vest just doesn't feel Duke like, to me. I'm gonna stick with the bandolier, but it'll be getting a modern grenade, and some extra pouches. I've got one vest that might work, if I pull the holster off, and replace it with something else. mikomatsing wrote: pretty handsome there! just modded my duke (again) and went with Oreobuilder's recipe, but this one's pretty awesome as well. maybe find a way to either lengthen the arms or reduce the leg height. probably the lower legs. When they're straight, the arms look fine, to me. And, I intentionally got rid of the shorter lower legs, I had on him. They made him way too short compared to every other figure I own. |

Pretty much just have to finish paint, now. I decided to replace the bandolier, with a gun sling. It helps to separate this Duke, from my older one. I made the slings wider than I normally would, to retain some of the bandolier feel. Both slings are linen scraps, soaked in matte medium, and painted. Yes, the goggles are clear, now. Single point sling, with a Vector Kriss: M4 on a three point sling: |
