Either the quality of the newer Marvel Universe figures is just getting better and better, or I'm getting lazier - because I haven't felt the need to "fix" the factory figures like I used to. Once upon a time, I had to mod just about every figure I pulled out of the package in order to get it where I wanted it. Now - not so much.
That said, I did slap some paint on a couple of them (we'll just call them "variants") and did a decent amount of modding to another.
These are the three figures in question:
Beast was just a quick mod to get rid of the "X" and add a blue wash to bring out the details in his fur - nothing major, but I'm calling him a "Secret Avengers variant" - which, based on his torso sculpt, I'm sure we'll get down the road, anyway.
She-Hulk required some more work than Beast, but it had to be done. Like Tex said - this is the version we SHOULD have gotten in the comic pack.
For Bill, I had to chop the shoulder pads off his crappy plastic cape, glue them to his shoulders, then affix a soft-goods cape to finish the job. May go back and "weather" him up a bit just so his skin doesn't look quite so plastic. Also have to tweak the wings on his helmet some, as they were warped coming out of the package.
HAMMER TIME!
My "Annihilators" team so far - working on a Quasar and a Rom: Spaceknight to help round out the team. Also the chick Rom from the comics (Icon?)
Fantastic 4 and some change...
Secret Avengers so far (hoping Hasbro makes a Valkyrie so I don't have to.)
Class Reunion:
Cheers!
