Only thing I'd recommend is to either paint the grenades and knife on The Dude's torso or sand them off. As is they are distracting like he has some strange growths under his shirt.

Yeah I hear ya, idk prob is when i've sanded stuff on the torso before it just seems to look odd to me. I'll ponder it.

Odder than The Dude packing a knife and grenades under his shirt? Maybe switch it out for a Salvo t-shirt look or something.

If you REALLY going for a militaristic feel then he wouldn't be wearing a YELLOW shirt into a battlefield that screams SHOOT ME!! If you don't want to shave off the grenades and knife then as MS suggested paint them and no one will complain about them being a eye sore on the shirt... You come here asking for critiques and we'll give you HONEST critiques... We aren't going to tell you "it looks AWESOME!!" when it don't.. As Pluv suggested the salvo t-shirt would take the grenades and knife off where you wouldn't have to paint them.. Like has been said we're giving you HONEST critiques...if you don't care what we suggest or say then pretty soon no one will look at them and give you honest critiques anymore. :-/

Mod Speak: But no one has to follow the advice of the critiques either. Let's go a little easier on how we present our critiques and respect each other's opinions here.

O_o

Wow yeah chill out dude. You sound like the big lebowski. I respect the complaints about the grenades and knife. I've played them out in my head myself. Like I said when i've sanded torsos in the past, namely a crazy legs torso and a zap v2 chest, it still looked like the objects were still there. Idk maybe I just didn't sand well enough, but I sure did sand the hell out of them it seemed. I don't want to paint them a different color because I wanted to stick to the brown-yellow of his bowling jacket. I guess presently i'm philosophically at a place where i am okay with some limitations a figure might present. And as for loud colors saying shout me...i mean come on theres a whole slew of joe figs that fall under that umbrella.

I totally get the reluctance to sand the torso. I've had limited success doing the same thing myself. I've found it is easier to just use a different part than try to modify what I have in hand. Yeah it might take me a little longer to finish the custom but I end up happier in the long run.

That said, if you're going for the bowling shirt look then I'd look at either the v.1 Shipwreck or Chuckles torsos. They both have that buttoned up shirt with collar look and don't have any extraneous sculpting.

Bottom line though is this. This is your figure and if you are happy with it then nothing anybody else says should matter.

Yeah I think its torsos with undulations to it. Maybe I just need to get a file, I use the fingernail type files.

Yeah chuckles or shipwreck, I like that, that would work. I'm going to do that.

The arms are chuckles actually, I used the torso for the Ash. I guess I was thinking Leatherneck because it's two-toned.

"oh man, my thinking about this case has been so uptight!"

just watched this one again Showtime last night.

Looks like you're on the right track with the Dude and what you'll do next. I guess we can close the file on that one. ;)
