I have never been 100% happy with either of my previous effort at making a Ming the Merciless figure, especially the first one I made. When I finished my Fu Manchu remake, I decided to give Ming a last go using the same body. Very pleased with the way it turned out: Went for a cross between Charles Midleton and Max von Sydow. The head needs some work. The eyebrows and eyes are a little wonky. The body on the other hand is perfection. Love the gems on his hands. Fix the head and you'll have a all around winner. |

We need a slow clap emote for times like this. I agree with pluv's assessment, but applaud you on you idea. |

I'm in love. This figure is just beautiful. It captures everything I liked about the movie Ming, but does a nice job of representing his other incarnations as well. I see what pluv is saying about the eyes, but it still works just fine for me as is. Honestly, the only disappointing thing about this figure is how much sculpting I'd have to do to make my own. It's one of my favorite customs of the year. Outstanding work. |

Thanks for the praise and the critiques. I agree about the eyes and the left eyebrow. They are a bit off. Been working on them this afternoon. Going to post updated pics a bit later. It did take a lot of sculpting. Far more than the Fu Manchu I made. The gold trim is line stickers. I struck lucky with the high collar and found some round gold glitter stickers that made placing it far easier. Much quicker and easier than trying to paint them. I used a very pale blue instead of white for the eyes. |

Been working on an eye fix all afternoon. Not going with any more attempts. This is the final pic. Got a more psychotic expression on his face. Revised pics are in the first post. |
