I wanted a modern Duke that would be true to the original figure. I saw one of Bucky’s custom Duke figures and borrowed his recipe. Here is mine:

Reference pic of ARAH version:

My custom next to Hasbro’s 25th version:

He has a working holster that actually looks like a holster, unlike the 25th version which looks like it has a box randomly stuck to the side of his thigh.

Working knife sheath (ARAH version had a knife sheath here, but the 25th version did not)

He is made mostly of Recondo from the Assault on Cobra Island pack. Thanks to Turner for the Recondo parts! I couldn’t have made this custom without Turner’s generosity. His right thigh is from 25th Gung Ho. The head is from the POC desert strike Duke, with the orangey yellow hair repainted. The holster is from an old Overkill figure.

AND….

I also tweaked my POC Jungle Duke. I didn’t understand why he was made with unbloused pants. That’s like an invitation to leeches. I figured it would only be proper to give him bloused pants and jungle boots. I also added a holster for his pistol to his webgear. It’s in an odd place, but it works. I also just realized I didn’t get a picture of it. Oh well.

For jungle Duke , I love the jungle boots. Keeps the chiggers and ticks out also. I think the green is very true also. Nice job.

For ARAH Duke, I love everything except for the untucked blouse/shirt. For some reason that is distracting to me and does not ring true for Duke. That is just me though. Solid figure and outstanding capture of colors and accoutrements.
