Some of you might recall i went nuts over the JADA Toys HALO 4 mini vehicle and figure sets. As soon as i saw them i knew they had some serious potential and were, IMO, very close to perfect. The Die cast vehicles are nice to display and the figures sported pretty good articulation in stock form. These are now my favorite mini figures (and possibly figures in general) of all time. I haven't had a chance to apply touch up paint or smooth the slightly rough spots but i dont care lol (i'll get to that later this week). I just wanted to see if i could not only add the missing articulation but , more importantly, make it sturdy enough to be played with by angry midgets...err. children.
They are *true* 2'' tall (as in exactly 2 inches) figures. Virtually the same articulation as an ARAH GI Joe (swivel neck, hinge swivel shoulders, swivel biceps, hinge elbows, swivel waist, hinge swivel hips like DCUC or Transformers Human Alliance , swivel lower thigh and hinge knees). The only articulation i added was the swivel biceps and hinge elbows.
As you can see Warhammer 40K weapons are in scale. Eventually i'll be sanding some figures down and making custom characters. The best part? Warhammer 40K miniatures (specifically the Space Marines), once articulated with these joints, are robust enough that they fit in despite being slightly shorter in unmodified form.
Do you need pilots for giant mecha / robot customs ? Here you are.
The scale makes vehicle display less of a challenge and having fully articulated mini figures to go along with them reminds me of the good times i had with MASK toys as a kid in my driveway.
