  • This section is for honest critique of the work shown here. Members are encouraged to give and accept non-confrontational constructive criticism as well as adoring praise and everything in between.
  • In order to show case everyone's work equally, please post multiple customs on the same day into a single thread. If you have a lot of pictures of your work you may have to add them to a separate post within that thread.
  • Please do not link to a sale thread or to eBay from your critique thread. This section isn't to be used to market your finished work. The Market Place section is better suited for that purpose.

So as I wrapped up my DC characters I spoke with Robulus a couple weeks ago and said that the only character I really still wanted to make and couldn't figure out was Tye Longshadow, Young Justice updated Apache Chief, particularly since I had done an original Apache Chief custom.

So I kept searching for ideas and finally came up with it.

This is by far my favorite character reboot on Young Justice, so I was happy that I could figure out a custom for him.

Powered Body - Transparent Man

Tye:
Head - GI Joe Hannibal
Torso - MU Starlord
Lower Arms - MU Spiderman
Legs - GI Joe Cobra Commander

First off I love the way Young Justice updated Apache Chief, and after our talk was very intrigued to see if this idea would work in custom form. Well, it works GREAT! To start the Tye figure itself is coming along nicely. Nice parts choices to get the "Skinny" jean look and the hoodie. But more impressive is the power FX. This is an idea that I could definetly see being barrowed down the road for Green Lantern customs as well. I love the way you captured the growth power as its used in the show now. I REALLY love this! Very creative.

Thanks all. I dremeled off the Visible Man's face and replaced it with clear plastic. There is also a chest plate that covers Tye. I then painted the outline with yellow stain glass paint to give it the power glow.

Holy Crap! As a fan of YJ as well, I was thinking about bringing AC into my 'verse. Never thought of this. Amazing thinking out of the box.

Ditto, I love the way they made the "giant" aspect part of his spiritual plane. I brainstormed an idea for him but could only think of the GIJCC's 12" clear bodies which wouldn't quite look right since they are so skinny. This is an inspired choice and looks good already.

One suggestion when you go to take your final pics, light the figure from the bottom with a regular yellow light bulb to give the entire figure a glowing effect.

I agree awesome idea, now for my old guy comments. Where did you find that body? I can't believe they still sell those models that was on of the first models I built as a kid and we're talking 70's. You really dug deep on this one excellent choice of parts and a rediculously clever way of pulling this off.
