Been wanting to do this for a while, since the Retaliation Trooper came out with the helmet-head. Anyway, here is the finished product.

Parts:
Head: Retaliation GI Joe Trooper (helmet-head)
Torso, arms: PoC Skydive
Hands: Renegades Firefly
Legs: RoC Accelerator Suit body (not sure which one)
Armor: Resolute Zartan
Radio pack: Star Wars Endor Rebel
Gun: Captain America Parachute figure, at least I think that is where it came from...

Pretty cool. Reminds me of Metroid somehow.

Change that helmet to a Halo Master Chief and you got the perfect 1:18th. Halo trooper.

Really nice job on the paint apps.

Exactly. That is the look I was shooting for, making this a case of art imitating art imitating life... or something like that.

Nicely executed. I echo the army building comment were he at retail.

I think the torso armor below the pecs is redundant with the RIA torso underneath. Cut that off so it's just the shoulder and upper torso covered and I think it would flow much better. But I really dig the design and thinking behind it. Well done.

Keep the belt though. Man I like that. Thank you for doing a custom I've been thinking about but would never get around to and executing ti so flawlessly.

agree with both. Also, I'd be really tempted to add some sidearm or knife holsters on the legs. Though the armor is already sculpted there, something seems overall top-heavy about him, and I think some holsters or simple practical kibble on the thighs or boots would solve it. May be just me though.

with or without any changes, it's a big win though.

This looks great. I agree with the crits above. He does look a bit top heavy. But awesome nonetheless. Great job.

Your suggestions have not fallen on deaf ears... I had issues with the way the belt rode up, and the way the armor torqued it when the torso was moved... I also thought the armor was too short, thus exposing the RIA armor beneath, which I was not going for. Therefore, I have cut the belt free, added ammo pouches to "hide" the RIA armor without cutting the Zartan chest piece (didn't want to cut it, as I think it is a fantastic sculpt), and added the side arm to the right thigh. This is how it looked afterwards:
