So with the new Evil Dead I went back and rewatched the original 3. I had done an Ash custom waaay back and I used the SW Draco head (way before that was a popular Ash head I believe) and thought it was time he got an update. Going for more of his comic book look here.

I will also being making a Draco head again and then deciding on which to use.

The Flint head isn't done yet and the skin tone looks bizarre in the pic. Much better in person.

So I decided to go with the Draco head, although I have the Flint and Doc Strange (brilliant Robulus use of a bad part) on stand by.

Still need to track down a shotgun.

This figure needs some mini Ashes (from the scene set inside of the windmill) made from scale railroad figures. Looks great so far!

Have you given thought to the Army of Darkness Ash head?

Yes I did look at it not sure I like it though. The Superman Injustice is looking like a possible also and I should have the Draco this week.

The lower legs are really throwing it off. Maybe try Rise of Cobra Storm Shadow lowers.

See, I like the clunky body, makes it look more like a 'toon or comic version... but I just don't quite buy the head as Ash. It has the mussed up hair and the dimpled chin, but the rest of the features don't look like him to me. It's a great figure, and the head works, but I think there might be better options out there. Certainly don't mean to understate how great he looks as is... but with the exaggerated body, I'd like to see a head with a big, square chin and wild eyes.

I think the head looks small on that body- if it were upsized every so slightly it would be perfect.

I love it! I really think the recipe here is flawless. I for one love the "boot cut" pants as I feel it captures that 70's/80's outdated look Ash had in the first 2 movies. The shirt recipe is a can't miss that you have used very well on a number of customs and I am always a fan. The paint aps are again perfect as usual here too. I think you really can't go wrong with any of the head choices you list. Obviously I like the Strange head (as its the piece Im most proud of with my fig). I think the Flint head could work if you built up the chin and gave it the cleft (probably more work than it's worth). The Injustice Superman has potential, but I actually think the Draco head works here. If I may I have a few random suggestions that I think might tweak the look:

First add the white streak from the end of Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness. For some reason it gives the head more of that "Ash" character. Also for the same reasons add an exaggerated eyebrow and the scars. Now I know the rest of the fig is clean and non "battle worn" so add a few blood splatters on the empty hand (just enough to tie together with the scars). Next add the watch to the same hand. It will cover the ridge and Ash actually wears a watch in about half the scenes (which is odd but true). Finally add the Boomstick. Once he's got his shotgun I think it pulls it together as well. I made a quick (and cheaply done) computer image of what these changes bring to the look. Just some odd thoughts. But as I said I love the fig as is too.

* Just looked at the photo on your facebook page (better lighting) and I think the Draco head works fine as is. It is purely personal preference at this point. And the question of which Ash do you prefer?...Evil Dead or Army of Darkness.
