This is what's been eating up my time lately, and it's finally finished, so I thought I'd post it. She's meant to be a Constitution class ship that was pulled from the boneyard in the late 24th century and rebuilt to test new technologies. I based the nacelles and the bridge superstructure on the Exeter class from Star Trek Online. I started by modifying an old Ertl/AMT 1/2500 scale movie Enterprise, mostly just trying to make it more accurate. Most of the time went into removing the raised panel lines, and scribing in new ones. The saucer "deflector grid" isn't quite perfect. I scratch built a nacelle, and made molds of everything. I modified a saucer casting with the new superstructure, and replaced the bridge module with one from another casting. It was easier than trying to save the original bridge. A second mold was made of the new saucer. Shortly before I started painting, I got the Round2/AMT Trek movie 3 piece model set. I made a mold of the sensor dome on the bottom of the Reliant, since it had the most accurately sized dome between it the Round 2 Enterprise and the old Ertl Enterprise. A casting from that mold replaced the original cast on dome. Phaser strips were made from styrene sheet. Decals were made with an eye towards Voyager era ship markings. The escape pods are based on the Nova class refit from Admiral Janeway's alternate future. All the windows were hand painted. Aztec panels were painted on with gloss clear over flat clear.
The model just shy of five inches long, so these picture are actually bigger than the model is.
This is the only picture where I was able to capture some of the aztecing. It's on the entire ship.

here.Story time! The original Hobb Creek was one of four of a forgotten class of ships, that were built to test technologies that would be used on what eventually became the Constitution class ships. (I'm calling these the Miskatonic class, and I hope to eventually build a model of one) The two remaining ships were decommissioned, shortly before the big Constitution refit project of the early 2270s. The Hobb Creek had disappeared without a trace in the 2260s. Turns out, she got pulled into the 2270s mirror universe. Six months later, half the crew dead, and an untested lieutenant commander now the senior ranking officer, the Hobb Creek found her way home, during the final weeks of the Dominion War. After being brought up to speed on the 108 years they'd missed, the crew was assigned to the Miskatonic Project: four antiquated ships being rebuilt with the latest bleeding edge and experimental technology. All were being named for the Miskatonic class ships. The Lt. Cmd. that had lead the first Hobb Creek home was promoted to full Commander, and put in command of the new Hobb Creek.
