Gnawgahyde

The limited amount of tooling in the Dreadnoks set meant that they tended to look similar. I wanted to do a bit to make Gnawgahyde more unique, and bring him a bit closer to his ARAH look. Backpack is modified vintage, the ankle holster is chopped up 25th Tunnel Rat webgear and the armbands are from a McFarlane Prince of Persia figure. Bow is the awesome folding one from the first Retaliation 3pack Storm Shadow.

Dr Venom

The Club was so close with this one. Couldn't stand the painted tie, carved one off of a Last Crusade Indiana Jones and put it on him. The head is the old standby of Grand Moff Tarkin (the most recent VOTC one in this case) but I modded the cheeks, hairline, and nose to bring it closer to Mike Vosburg's depiction of the guy.

Sandstorm

Image

Image

Can't recall if I've shown this guy off before or not. Mostly an LBC, the only mods were cutting the bandana out of the vest so it could be put on from the back and I could remove the obtrusive snap. Can't remember if it was a Q and A, or a con panel or what, but I recall someone at Hasbro saying that PoC Zartan's disguise was supposed to be a Joe he'd killed called Sandstorm. Then they went ahead and released Sandstorm as part of the "ROSS Exclusive" vehicle wave. That figure was pretty generic though, so I combined the two of them to get this.

Iceberg

I was really hoping I'd like the Club Iceberg when I had him in hand, but he sucks. I'm also not a big enough fan of his V1 look that I felt the desire to modify the Club figure. Finally tracked down one of the cancelled PoC Arctic Dukes on eBAy and used that as my start for Iceberg. The Resolute Duke vest matched the color of the camo well and helped to bulk up the figure since like most of the samples that leaked of that figure, mine didn't include the coat. I think it also pulls in a bit of the v1 look with the torso being mostly a solid color that doesn't appear elsewhere on the figure. Since he had the snowboard anyway, I gave him the balaclava head so I can go between his different looks. I do want to find something to go over/on the vest to break it up a bit, but nothing I tried seemed to work. Unmasked head is a Star Wars Captain Panaka I believe, with a hat cut off of a Chap Mei figure.

MOTUC Slushhead

I'm loving what Mattel has been doing with the New Adventures of He-Man corner of the universe in the Classics line. All of them are among my favorite MOTUC figures. Slushhead though was a bit disappointing. He just needed bendy tentacles dammit. Well, I finally found some that had the right look and size, from the Ultimate Spider-Man 6in Doc Ock. After finally finding paint that would adhere to the soft plastic, I was in business. This is the figure they should have released.

Hurricanus

Got Hurricane Hordak as part of the sub, but I didn't really have a use for him. Hordak's regular look is just fine by me. Still, the crazy arm attachments and gold chrome were too cool to leave in a box or whatever so Hurricanus was born. I went with the name since it seemed appropriately He-Man, and he had a bit of a Roman feel with the helmet. His head is from some Colossus figure. Helmet is Playmobil with the plume from a DCUC Ares. The belt is modified from a DCUC Despero. As an added bonus, he looks good with the Man-E-Weapons gear from the Weapons Rack.

Thanks for checking these out guys. Love to hear what you think.

Nice to know that Playmobil stuff works with MotU Classics figs.

Great job on all of them, liking the Hurricanus custom.

Yeah, Playmobil is an odd duck, the hats and helmets fit 6in and larger figures, the accessories can look okay with 6 or 4 in depending and the vehicles/playsets are just a hair undersized for 4in stuff. Fortunately I customize in both scales, so i don't waste fodder.

I like the hybrid Sandstorm, and also the definitive take on Venom. I need to stock up on some Tarkin heads, as I have multiple future projects in mind based on Peter Cushing characters.

I like Hurricanus too, he almost makes me go collect/customize MOTU again.

Cool stuff! Dr. Venom and Hurricanus stand out the most or me. With the Doc, you totally nailed the look for the comics. And with Hurricanus, I think you got a lot out of that Hordak variant and added a cool 'Roman' looking guy to the fold, something I think MOTUC lacks. I just started customizing MOTUC myself since there's affordable fodder from Big Lots now. It's a fun line to work with.

As a lover of Marvel customs, I have to say that is the best Dr. Venom I've seen. The mods on the GMT head are flawless.

I agree with the comment about Venom above.
