SCROLL DOWN A FEW POSTS FOR THE NEW STORY
I should lead in with a hat tip to Greyryder, whose Grey Tech dio shorts inspire some of my humor in these posts. I don't have his gift for brevity, or slick presentation, so it's more pale imitation than homage... but I have fun with it nonetheless...
Also - since the first run of the story, I have edited and updated it into a comic format. The original remains at the bottom of the post, but here is this chapter in comic style.
I plan on more Adventure Team stories in this form, going forward.
Though it makes for a bulky post, I'm leaving in the original version below...

“So, big brother, what’s with the case full of cash?”
“That, Jane, is our reward from the U.N. for neutralizing the international poaching operation on Serpent Island. “
“wow”
“I know, right? I’m trying to decide what to use it for…I was thinking about buying a tank. Do you think the Adventure Team needs a tank? And if so, would a yellow tank be too much?”
“…”
“What?!”
“…”
“Well, you can think about it. If you prefer something like Orange, let me know. But I’m calling it a day. I’ll be back in the morning.”
“hmmm”
THE NEXT MORNING
“...so, no, Joe, I don’t think yellow is too over the top at all.” [Flint rolled his eyes]
[Joe, nodding along in agreement]: “Jane, have you seen that briefcase? Jane?!? You here?”
“I’m sure she put it in the safe for me”
[The garage door starts to open, and an engine is heard revving outside]
[Beep, beep, beep, beep.]
[Beep, beep, beep, beep.]
“Where did you…
...how did you…
...my tank money! WHY?!?”
“Because dad left me in charge of AT finances for a reason, and because the AT needed a new Trouble Shooter more than we needed a big fugly yellow tank.”
“But Flint agreed we needed the tank”
“This new Trouble Shooter is for Flint”
[Flint with a crooked grin]: “Sorry man, but seriously who needs a yellow tank anyway?”
“I think I’m going to be sick. I already told all the guys at the club I was getting a yellow tank.”

For my team, Joe is the Commander of the AT, which includes CEO type duties as well as field work. Flint is the full time field leader, however. And this is kind of a new version of Flint…the last two versions I showed off before have been combined into one better version. I took the parts I liked best from each. Vest and arms from one, legs and torso from the other.
Later that day, Joe proposed a drag race with Jane, with the chance at his yellow tank hanging in the balance…
