A new batch.
Gremlin
Image

Angel Forge cast

Radley Crown and Dynomutt
Image

Head: RoC Duke with sculpted hair
Hands: 25th Cobra Trooper
Body: Professor X

Dynomutt
Head: Hood Hounds
Body: Chap Mei firefighter dalmation

Blue Falcon and Dog Wonder
Image
Image
Image
Head: RoC Target Wetsuit modified
Body: Marvel Universe Mr. Fantastic
Calves and feet: Retaliation ninjas 3 pack Storm Shadow
Hands: 25th Cobra Trooper
Cape: painted fabric
Falcon claw: new sculpt Freedom and necklace

Dog Wonder costume: green stuff and magnets.

While I love how the gear is removable and the magnets look cool, my green stuff was at end of life and only giving me a 5 minute working time. I had to go back and use Aves for the head piece because the first one was aweful. The original plan was that all of his limbs would be able to extend but that would have made him a lot more fragile. That got scrapped the first time my daughter picked him up and flew him around the room. I do plan on adding a removable neck extension. I just need to find where I put the Doc Ock arm I set aside.

World War Robot: Square
Image
Image

Lego Duplo block with pegs sanded
Sulpted eyes and mouth
Lego minifig legs
Army men gatling gun with magnet added

This one started out during last Custom Celebration's Whip your WIPs challenge. I was painting him and found a cool weathering/rust technique I wanted to try out with it. A year later and I finally got around to it.

Maria Hill
Image
Image
Image
Head: starwarsgeek cast
Body: MU Mystique
Shoulder holster: Recondo's modified
Belt: Rise of Cobra Storm Shadow skirt trimmed
Pistol: Marauder Inc
Shield emblem: Marvel decorative tape

Nothing overly new here. I just wanted to add her to the ranks.

Tony Stark
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Head: starwarsgeek cast
Torso: RoC Ripcord with arc decal
Arms with friend's watch: RoC Ripcod upper, Renegades Duke lower, Star Wars Obi Wan hands
Mechanic arms: RoC Ripcord with Obi Wan left hand, BBi right hand
Legs: Retaliation Storm Shadow
Vest: POTF Rebel fleet trooper
Scarf: MU Ms Marvel
Sunglasses: WWE Rumblers
Mechanic nail gun: BrickArms with Lego welder
Wrist repulsor: MU Black Widow with styrene

I blame Hot Toys for this one. They keep making all these cool versions of Stark from Iron Man 3. Rather than doing all of them I did one version that could give me a bunch of the different looks. By trimming down the elbow and hand pegs the lower arms and hands now pop out without having to boil and pop them, but still stay in otherwise.

They all look great.... But for whatever reason, I really love the square. That's just different enough that I'd want it if I saw one in the stores.

Holy hell. I love that robot. The rust looks so realistic.

One thing I really appreciate in a toy is gear to make it versatile. The Tony Stark trips all my triggers. Well done.

This is a great batch. That square robot is awesome. It looks real, nice weathering. And Blue Falcon brought back a flood of memories for me. Haven't thought about that character in a very long time.

Dynomutt? holy crap, forgot about that show. Great work on the costumed dog!

That's an excellent custom of Stark. The denim looks like DENIM!

yeah Blue Falcon and Dynomutt are big winners. And Billy's right, the rust effects on the robot are outstanding.

The little square robot is unbelievable. Please share that rust/weathering technique...I have been following several but have not used them yet. That looks like a combination of the salt method and cinnamon, but I could be wrong.

Knowing how outside the box pluv can get I wouldn't be surprised if that was a real metal box that he banged up then left out in the elements for several months to rust and corrode naturally. :-D

I would recommended puttying in the holes on the back of the lego legs on blockbot, but otherwise, all winners!

I totally got a star wars droid feel off your squarebot -- which makes me want to make one now ... using duplo/lego was inspired, man!

No cinnamon was used. Salt and paint. There is probably a tutorial coming as part of the Celebration. :shifty:

MS, NOW you tell me?! A real metal box might have been easier.

I almost did that. What stopped me is the gun with the magnet in him makes him unbalanced. That is why he's on a stand. Once I used the stand I was like well he could sit and then almost look like a box on the ground. But even with the gun off he isn't balanced for sitting, so I need the stand, which means he needs the leg holes. It all came down to being able to pose him better.
