This vehicle isn't THAT old in the scale of all my WIPs... but it's pretty old... it Predates my Adventure Multiplier... in fact I stole Canopies from this for that.

When I first Mocked this up I know I used my Adventure Team Stinger... So more than a year old, but probably not more than 3 years old...

I think my initial Plan was to make this an Adventure Team Vehicle...so I could pair it up with the Adventure Team Stinger. My initial plan was just to have a single hinge point on the upper Door and it would just Tilt open to Release the inner jeep... After showing it to some local friends, I got convinced that it'd be much better to have the upper door swing up and forward on 4 struts...Trying to engineer that feature has kept this in WIP-status. While futzing with it recently, I decided to try some LEGO parts...I'm quite happy with where it's going...and just need to take a trip down to my Mom's house and raid my old LEGO stash for some Technic parts.

Current next steps are:

Finish engineering the Opening feature and finalize the rough Body Construction.
Build the Turret...Using the Rolling Thunder Turret but replacing the Cannon with the Crane from the Flagg.
If space allows, build out some "command center" like detail on the inner bay to be used when a Vamp based vehicle is not in the Bay.
Decide on a Color Scheme/Faction and paint, sticker, and Finishing touches.

If you still have the rails from the slide out turret you could use those to mount a mission specific pod inside the bay. That way you can keep the clearance on the sides for the VAMP vehicle but still have the flexibility to use it for a command post.

That's a really cool idea.

are you going for an aircraft that can drop the jeep into the battlefield, of is this like a big tank with a jeep delivery? Reason I ask is when I saw the first pic, without any wheels, it almost made me think of a helicarrier type vehicle.

I really like the adventure team rolling thunder custom you had on your link. This one promises as well
I am positive it will be a beast of a vehicle.

I love the idea man. Also did you cast those vamp parts on the Stinger?

The first pic made me think of a boat actually. Seeing the other pics, a landing craft would be even more suitable!

Impressive work so far.

I don't really like the detail on that lift arm...it's too One sided... also not sure where I'd fit it.... I am considering stealing the "Tech Detail" on the back wall of the MCC repair bay... I think that might fit well on that front wall and still allow the Vamp and any other support stuff for the opening roof.

I see what you're seeing... but no I intend to pop the wheels on in the end... Just keeping them off till this thing gets painted because they can be kinda fragile. This developed with a Strong Adventure Team idea...they'd take the big vehicle in and set up a Base-Camp...and then have the smaller Jeep to Toot off on other day-adventures.

Yes... Those are all parts I've slowly been working on for my Eco Vamp Project I know I've posted them on Facebook...but don't think I've made a thread on any of the boards... mostly what I've done so far has just been color tests...I haven't made the actual parts for that project.
