Bio: "Do not use a cannon to kill a mosquito." -Confucius Magilla is a genetically altered gorilla who managed to escape and subsequently blow up the lab that was experimenting on him. To try and blend in, he bribed a pet shop owner to allow him to make a base of operations there. Now a semi-permanent resident, he sells his services to anyone for the ... ... clearance based dollar. Apparently having the strength of a genetically altered gorilla, average human intelligence, and a knowledge of firearms doesn't automatically make you good at your job. Yes, if someone needed a job done loud and sloppily, they have about a 30 to 40 percent chance that Magilla can pull it off. So at the end of every mission, he generally goes back to his pet shop with another bad recommendation. Someone asked him once why he wore such garish clothes. His response was simple "It's what you people wear, and I need to blend in, don't I?" Parts: Kong base figure Lego bowler (thanks, drbindy) Bowtie and ribbon from a craft store Kwinn ammo belts for the suspenders x4 Dora the Explorer shorts Saw-Viper v1 gun I wanted to participate in this NJC, but wasn't sure where to start. I knew people would be making the standard super-heroes, and I didn't want to just rely on that. I was cleaning up my fodder when I ran across this Kong figure who I just happened to stick a Saw-Viper machine gun in his hand. It was then that inspiration struck. With a sweet assist from bindy, I had the hat, and the rest was just random greebles I knew I could get from various places. The last piece were the suspenders. I had been trying to figure out how to do them with ribbon when it just kind of struck me to use ammo belts for them. I painted the black parts green, and called it good. All in all, I'm shocked that I won this NJC. I was up against some fantastic competition, and I would have never thought I'd win. Attachment: Attachment: Attachment:

Innovative use of parts and great looking custom. Well deserved win. Can't wait to see what you have planned for NJC#78 ,I hope the turn out is as good as this past one. |

I'm a sucker for apes so voting for this guy was a no-brainer. The only thing that would have beat him out is if someone had done Speed Buggy. Well done Kilcarr. |

I think what I liked about this is that it captured the whimsical nature of the NJC theme this time around. Want to see some pics of him interacting with joe sized guys though |
