I wanted to do something different and unique with Dusty. I know this may not say Dusty to everyone, and it really isn't based on anything other than what I wanted to do, but here is my updated 30th style Dusty and Sandstorm. I had in the back of my mind that he would be part of a special K-9 unit that would all wear the footprint emblem. Whether or not I expand on this idea remains to be seen. The only thing I am not sure about is the nonfunctional night vision goggles. I had made them flip up and down using the club Night Viper helmet piece, but it sat so high when flipped up it looked ridiculous, I thought it would be better to just have it be static instead. Let me know if you see any room for improvement.

I really like this. Like a lot. Good choice of colors, and I even like the paw print. I'm not sure what you're going for with Sandstorm. Is he a wolf? That paint job you gave him is amazing, though.

Thanks. Regarding Sandstorm, I guess he is a wolf mixed with something. I was short on coyotes. Anybody have any ideas as to what this version of Sandstorm could be genetically? Wolf-German Sheppard mix maybe.

that Dusty is what a modern Joe should look like. Very Adventurish, without being tied in to the Adventure Team per se. I have a bunch of that torso, and I've really only used it once, because the armor is so weirdly sculpted it seems to overpower the figure for me usually. (The one I did use turned the armor into the Punisher's logo, so it was ok it became the focus).

Here, the orange somehow - though making it what should be a more distracting color - really helps the armor blend in and not dominate the look. Is that making sense at all? I mean the color really pops - but for the first time I'm looking at it and seeing removable armor. The paint added depth and realism to the sculpt. Hell, I first wondered if it was actually a removable vest, that's how much the paint changed it.

Sandstorm has never looked so fierce. I really like the helmet and goggles combination for him.

I like. It's a great divergent design.

Awesome, I'd buy the new figures if they looked like that.

I Like this. Dusty looks more like he`s on a SAR operation and with Sandstorm to assist.

Perfect Modern Mil feel :D

a few stripes on sandstorms back and he'd be looking like a jackal hybrid!

i'd say with how variable they seem to be that you nailed a jackal without even knowing it! the two dark stripes would look cool though.....

Cool. I'll go with Jackal. And I'll see about adding those black stripes.
