I've dummied up two figures I'll be making.

The first mockup is Raptor in a semi-armored wingsuit. I hate the character, but there have been some great customs recently so I'm jumping on the bandwagon. Plus, it'll be an excuse to use up some leftover Iron Man parts. Version 1 features only the face partially exposed. Version 2 has the upper arms exposed- a bit closer to the original figure.

Which looks best: with sleeves or without?

The second mockup is VENOM's Lester Sledge. The Version 1 has Lester Sledge in a more traditional Cobra uniform. Version 2 brings in some color elements from the Kenner action figure.

Which looks best: traditional Cobra colors or a bit of Kenner colors?

I like the second raptor, and the second sledge. The second sledge colors would help him stand out a bit more I think.

Second Raptor, first Lester.

The first Raptor could be anyone, but the bare sleeves on the second make it seem more like a Raptor inspired design.

As for Lester, not knowing anything about the character, the second design might work for an individual high enough the Cobra hierarchy to warrant such one-off uniform. But, as such, it seems a bit too busy. I do like the colors, but something seems off.

Now the first one, the simplicity of the blue and black is a classic. It has that Cobra Officer/Trooper vibe, yet it has some differences from those designs. It has the came up through the ranks and has earned an unique uniform.

Lester Sledge was a rather forgettable VENOM agent. He drove an ATV that transformed into... an ATV.

I'll be going with the sleeveless Raptor when I get to it. I'm starting paints on the Kenner-inspired LS tonight.
