Brazil vs Argenzuela!

Tried a Cobra De Aço a while back but it strayed too far from the original design. Decided to rein myself in and try again with something much more reminscent of the classic figure's look. I kept the original head because I still think it works so well.

Cobra Mortal I chose to base on the Venezuelan white version if only because it's easier to make sense out of. White costume, black detailing. With the chrome/red one it's like "is it just an oddly colored suit or is he a cyborg or what?". Did decide to use the red and black detailing on the head from the Argentinian version, though, to make the look "pop" a bit more.

Yellow is one of those impossible to get right colors. Have you considered trying a metallic look for the yellow on Cobra de Aco? A silver paint with clear yellow over the top would look nice especially on the armor.

Yellow... Very tough. I'd personally try a yellow mixed in with gold for a metallic look. Vallejo mixes easily like that.

That being said, I like them both, and enjoy the mortal. You've been on a great roll later.

Yeah, the yellow was a pain...
But I don't have any way to make a custom mix and keep it around, and the paint doesn't stick too well to the chest armor, so I need something handy should I ever need touch-ups...

But in person the unevenness kind of looks like the armor is worn and slightly damaged and that look works for me.

EDIT: And the belt my Mortal was wearing broke. Raginspoon makes good casts but his soft casts (vests and belts and the likes) don't really hold up well to stress, no matter how minor. :-/
