So I turned around one day and suddenly I have a Staples copy paper box full of figure fodder. I have no idea how it happened, but it is ridiculous so I have made a decision to try to use some of it up.

First up is that Concept Vault Shipwreck that I liked so much when I saw it. This was mainly just part swapping and paint, but I did make the cuffs out of a Retaliation 3-pack Firefly webgear. The Navy on his chest is a waterslide from a model and the tattoo is a waterslide I printed myself. I included a before pic, which I usually don't do, but since this was a fodder utilization situation, I think it's cool to see.

Sweet looking figure. As someone who doesn't customize Modern Era figures it's impressive to see how he started out as the mishmash of parts and what you turned him into.

The white isn't as smooth as your regular work generally is, but the custom itself is well within your "above Hasbro standard quality" envelope.

What is the deal with the bi-color upper thigh? I am not familiar with the parts.

All in all, a great rendering of the concept vault design.

The fact that you have a copy paper box full of fodder makes me very happy. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

The smoothness on the white was tough because it took so many coats. My usual trick of dipping the brush in water didn't work perfectly. I may have to use thinner next time.

As for the upper thighs, right upper is Renegades Ripcord so it had the holster, the rest of the legs are Dollar General Shipwreck wave 2, which did not come with a holster on the right thigh.

I actually agree on the wrists. They are large. I thought the cuffs would disguise Them some, but they really didn't. At this point they are in there so tight that removing them by force or with heat would damage the custom, so it is what it is as they say.

Nice custom. The Navy on the chest looked so professional I was shocked when I saw the WIP picture of him.

I also like the cuffs on the wrists. It is the best you could do and I think it looks nice.

i didn't even notice the added cuffs! it gives a better "mo'real" feel to the hands over the wip pic, good fix!

so true, sometimes done is done. You don't want to mess up a perfect enough custom to fix a minor issue

I may have to borrow this idea, it's really nice. The parts combo is cool and the paint apps make it great.
