With the discussion of a Shattered Glass themed Con Set allot of folks were clamoring on Facebook that the theme was hackneyed or just not for GI Joe. Many expressed an interest in other themes more closely connected with GI Joe. The Steel Brigade Versus Plague six came up a lot in that discussion. This spirited discussion inspired me to try my hand at designing a set that featured the players from that original six pack while saving costs on tooling, paint and available molds. This is the outline for that set, which I have dubbed Operation: Mind Games I am currently working on parts lists, accessories and paint apps for the figures. Color schemes for the vehicles and File Cards for the characters. I would love to see what kinds of box designs someone with artistic ability could put together. Operation: Mind Games Story: Red Zone has been investigating COBRA activity outside of New Orleans (or what ever city the con would be held in). Aided by the Elite Steel Brigade NOMAD Team, Red Zone finds himself standing face to face with a most unlikely prisoner and arguably one of COBRA’s most sinister operatives - Interrogator! Interrogator’s old unit, The Plague, quickly mobilized to free COBRA’s chief information extractor. Red Zone must call his old friends Checkpoint and Rook in to help. Can Checkpoint and his security team Steel Brigade -Police Unit #4 hold off the coming Plague? Will Steel Brigade interrogator Rook be able to stand toe to toe with a master of his craft? Or is this all part of an insidious plot by COBRA’s master machinator?
