Well it took a year but it is done. This is an update modernized version but still all of the classic conversion. I got held up on how to make the rear fin move the way I wanted to for a long time but finally found the right piece and it is now done. I thought about buying stickers but due to the difference in scale I decided that I would be just as good to paint on the graphics.

Recipe

Acura NSX RC car-not sure of brand
Snowcat cockpit seats
Dashboard from the RC Jeep Wrangler I used to make Gator
jet from the trouble bubble
rear fin hydraulics are off the arm of some Transformer (that was the piece that got this project back in the fast lane after months of stalling out)
Wing guns are from the new Serpentors Air Chariot
Bombs from the mud fighter.
And a lot of cutting and scratch fabricating to make it all come together.

The WIPs I have are pretty plain, not much to see but this is what I have

Those pics were the first push but I got hung up at that point for several months because I could not figure out how I wanted to approach the rear fin and jet. The next pictures do not look much different but the difference is I had found the piece I needed to make the rear end work.

I love the physical conversion, and the engineering and design.

That said, I think you should really look into some decal work for the details. Even if it's just making your own waterslides. A new shiny exterior coat of paint plus decals would give this thing the finishing touch that your excellent work on the structure deserves. The hand painting isn't bad - but I think it holds back the final effort whereas decals would put it over the top.

Just my 2 cents - I really enjoy what you've done with it, even as is.

Thanks. I did not want to paint the graphics but did not have much of a choice. The only stickers available are from stickerfixer but they are designed for the original and would not actually fit right. I thought about making them work like I did on the hood of Gator but still would have been awkward. I do not do computer graphic design and do not own a color printer (my printer is used mainly for business so a B&W laser is just more economical). But that said I thought the graphics came out pretty good.

I would agree that sharper graphics/stickers would move it from A to A+. But if you don't have easy access, I totally understand.

It really gets that "Hey Hasbro Why the Heck has MASK Not Been Revived!!!" vibe going in me. Seems like the perfect balance between Joe and T-Formers...but that's another story. The custom here is a great tribute.

Unfortunately my strength lies in construction. I can make do on paint but if I had the money I would pay someone else to take care of the painting. LOL
