Thanks all. Had a lot of fun, and definitely have some learning to do.
Not sure if it's this P3 paint but it dries faster than I expected. My only other experience was painting one Warhammer 40k figure that my uncle gave me many years ago (probably did it when I was like 10 so, 23 years ago and it sure seemed like the Citadel paints were a little more forgiving to the brush (drying wise), that or I'm just much slower now. Even discounting the larger surface area to paint. Well that and about six years ago I did buy a bunch of Citadel paints that sadly got tossed due to non-use and attempted a repaint to test the waters.
I would like to get a metallic look to the visor but I'm not quite sure how best to accomplish the look. Since I do want the bluish, but also would want some kind of glossiness to it. Not sure if one would accomplish that by painting it metallic silver then doing some kind of mix of the blue with some clear coat to keep it somewhat translucent. No clue on that. I suppose the easier route would be to find some blue metallic paint, obviously I have some research to do.
Right now I'm limited to the P3 paint that I bought. Basically three six-packs of colors off of Amazon, just picked color packs that were decent price and had colors I thought would be fun to start with. I also picked up two 19-packs of "MSP HD" paints from Amazon, not sure how well it works yet since I haven't tried it. Hopefully it will be somewhat comparable to the P3 since unless my memory isn't cooperating the P3 seems a lot smoother than the Citadel I had trialed many years ago. For the most part I'm limited to what I can pick up on Amazon, there is a Gamers Workshop store 20 miles or so down south, but that's a heck of a drive for a bottle of paint.
Thank again everyone for your thoughts. I've been lurking for many years trying to get ideas on what and how to accomplish the tasks when my space finally allowed for the work. Sorry for getting so wordy. Bad habit.
