Everyone has done one of these but this is mine. I had been holding onto a drop ship for a while when I came across this helicopter in a thrift store, I immediately started grafting it together, now nothing has happened in a couple of weeks, been busy.

Really does not need much more. Just needs a couple more spots glued. some puttying and some paint and it will be ready to rock.

It's pretty sweet.

I don't know about the wings being up near the rotor like that, but I'm liking everything else. Maybe on that little section of the body that juts out between the canopy and the skids might work better?

yeah that spot isn't perfect but I tried them everywhere and it was the best of several bad options.

Regarding the wings, I agree with pluv that being up there is a little odd. I can also see how putting them in the usual place would either block the intakes on the engines or block the rear mounted weaponry. What if you removed the rear mounted weapons and placed them on the wings along with the missiles and then lowered the wings to just below the intakes?

blocks the door. They would have mounted perfectly on the sides where they belong if I was willing to give up the passenger area.

I have never had one of those so its hard to visualize it. Sounds like a tough layout

yeah it is crammed together pretty tight. Right below where the wings are right now is a door that opens down to allow for a two passenger cargo area.

OK moving the wing to the bottom. If I beef up the landing gear the missiles will just clear the ground. Plus it is a more natural place for the wings to be. A lot more work but hopefully worth it. LOL
