Here is The Saw Viper .
This is not just some random Saw Viper, but The Saw Viper (the one that killed Joes)

What do you think?

I like him. Different legs and head?

The head is a combination of Gristle and the original saw viper's helmet hollowed out. Plus the cigarette.
The legs are new - Big Boa upper legs and Fridge's lower legs ( which adds height to the figure)
The original saw viper torso is too small, so I dremeled the original saw viper's chest and back away leaving the pads. I then glued the pads to Annihilator's torso which is broader and looks more imposing.
The arms are also a composite of Laser Viper's upper arms and Metal Head V1 lower arms.
I used the hog machine gun in lieu of the gigantic gun since The Saw Viper uses the hog in the comics.

Hope you enjoy!

Incredible mods. Even the paint matches. What about a picture with Quick Kick, Doc and the other Joes?

Holy cow!
I've been a huge fan of Livevil's work for a while and consider him the greatest ARAH customizer - bar none ( and if you disagree, you're wrong). Every time I see that he has posted a new custom, I cant wait to see it and then try to recreate it for myself , with nowhere near the same quality.
So, I might sound like a starstruck fanboy, but to get a compliment from Livevil, really is a big deal for me. Thanks Livevil!

Me too, he's def one of the best. I think your custom here could do with some better photography and then the only thing separating it quality wise might be that it's a great figure but more of an upgrade kind of figure if you know what I mean - It takes an existing concept and does it better, and that's great. But I think what makes a truly great well rounded custom/customizer is creativity, breaking new ground. That's definitely something I struggle with. Most of my customs are X figure/concept redone with my little twist or X character made into a figure, it's hard to come up with cool new concepts.

You deserve it! At first (I didn't look at the name) I thought it might be one of his! Perfect rendition.

Thank, A.D.D.!
I agree that my photos suck, to put it kindly. I take pictures with my phone so I know I'm not getting quality pictures.
I have always preferred to upgrade existing characters.
Some of the original ARAH figures just never captured the look or spirit of what was portrayed in the comics. In the case of the saw viper, I feel like Hasbro knew the figure wouId be a peg warmer (pink uniform, scrawny body, few accessories, and a gun that the figure couldn't hold), so they tell Hama and Marvel to give the saw viper a push. Of course, Hama knew how to make a cool character, and we got The Saw Viper in the comic ( a Cobra that actually killed Joes). I read the comic and I want a saw viper. Unfortunately, the figure that was available wasn't cool at all, but I bought it anyways. As a kid, I felt ripped off.
When I am able to customize a figure to match the look and spirit of the comics ( which drew me to the figure in the first place) I feel like I'm righting the wrongs from my childhood.
Every once in a while I do make original customs, but for some reason, my brain won't allow me to fully accept my own originals as part of the Joe universe. I do ;however, thoroughly enjoy looking at other people's original customs.

Great modifications, man! This is definately an upgrade.
Do you have pics from the side, or WIP pics? I'd love to see more!
Oh, and are those helmet straps on the sides?

Tim, those are chinstraps on the sides of the helmet. I don't have any WIP photos. Here's a side shot. (Again, my photos stink)

Thanks!

You're welcome, moemoe15237 and thank you!
You have no idea how much I appreciate your praise for my custom work. I'm just glad to know that I still inspire customizers and my past work is still appreciated.

Like you, I'm a big fan of the Marvel GI Joe comic universe and your custom instantly brought the infamous chain-smoking, Joe-killing, SAW Viper from the John Statema art to life. He was portrayed as a large, muscular, hulking man and the choice for parts you used and their modifications work so effectively in creating that. It's those small details that really make him pop and clearly stand out from any other SAW Viper.

I'd love to see more details on the legs, but that's a minor gripe. Great job!
