I picked up two of these Laser Team vehicles off ebay a while back,

one with a red canopy the other with a blue/green canopy. They are made by Gay Toys Co. and are made of really soft cheap plastic, but have a really cool looking silhouette .
I knew this one, the one with the red was going to be a either an Iron Grenadier or Cobra vehicle. I couldn’t decide what armaments to add to it. I scored 2 Pulverizers at Steel City Con and instantly knew I was going to mount them on this thing. When I looked at the vehicle it shared some striking similarities to the first two H.I.S.S.s, and began to imagine it as a H.I.S.S. that Cobra would be using to battle Joe’s BF2000 team (BF 2050 now, or whatever). But I struggled with actually calling it a H.I.S.S. Looking through the gallery I saw than only the Venom Cycle uses the name Venom and that the twin cannons reminded me of fangs in a way, so I stuck with just Cobra Venom.

I'd totally forgotten about the base vehicle until recently, what a great use of it! Glad you went with a new name, definitely HISS inspired but different enough to warrant distinction. I'm a big fan of red black for COBRA vehicles, but something about it here is actually giving me an IG vibe. Looks great, regardless.

I have one of these, and am stuck trying to convert it to a Trek shuttle, mostly stuck on the pilot. Beauty of a paintjob you've done!

I had one of these as a kid and it was a fun vehicle. You've taken it to a whole new level and modernized it really well. Great job.

I've always liked that car, but you made it 100 times more awesome.

It looks like it wants to be Destro's combat limo.

Thanks guys.
Yeah, I was really torn between Cobra and Iron Grenadiers. When you put it next to a H.I.S.S. II though it just seemed to similar. Destro's vehicles always seemed bizarre in shape and function, so this thing was just a little too straight forward.
Probably didn't help that I used I.G. stickers in some places.

I like it a lot. You've turned a cheap looking vehicle into something very decent and cool.
How does the front part stay off the ground, is it a hidden wheel underneath the cockpit?
Does the red hatch on the back open up? Is there some extra space behind it?

Love it. That looks a billion times better. Like Tim I'm wonder wing about the front wheel.

What did you use to paint it? I have had horrific experiences on soft plastic with the sprays I usually use.

Those cannons fit the shape and general feel of the vehicle perfectly. Great paint job too.

There is a single wheel under the cockpit that keeps the front off the ground, though I had forgotten to put it back on before reassembling and didn't feel like taking it apart again to put it on and potentially chipping the paint.

The plastic does not take paint well. I used Krylon Colormax paint/primer. It chips very easily in fact it did where the canopy connect to the body, when I was placing figures inside before shooting (touched it up after).
There may be a paint out there that adheres better. Walmart didn't have Krylon Fusion (which would have been my first choice) when I went shopping so I picked this stuff up.

The back hatch (narrow) does open to a simple hollow cavity. Probably not enough room for much in there aside from an engine, too small for figures without modifications to the entire design. The placement of the cannons block mine from opening.

Thanks again fellas.
