Post subject:  SGT STALKERS: DOGSofWAR
there will be something to crit in this thred, i promise! i have finally got the base figures and heads i want to create some joes! i think i'm the only joecustoms customiser that hasn't made a gi joe character :) in my verse gi joe and cobra has been destroyed by an event then hunted by KOBRA. my team is named NERODIA and we are not joes or cobra, some of us may be former members though.

so my 6 man joe team are the remnants, the survivors. they are being hunted by KOBRA alongside cobra. the six remaining members, known at the time of this writing, are:

STALKER- senior officer and commander
LOWLIGHT
SNAKE EYES
SPIRIT
TUNNEL RAT
SHIPWRECK

my figures, wips right now, are not true to any of their original artwork. they are my take on a post event elite 6 member team. right now i'm having trouble with the name. i want it to be in the style of "slaughters marauders" but with STALKER as the creator/leader. with 6 members i first thought of a play on sigma 6, but since i'm not working in that style it might be confusing for a name.

any ideas?

They wouldn't want to think of the Joe team being dead just because most of its members are and would still consider themselves Joes, and would definitely have plans to rebuild the team, imho. But maybe they'd go by the 'Old Joes' once they have some recruits that are numerous enough to have their own sense of camaraderie and a 'generational' divide comes about naturally.

I get the mentality AV reflects here, but I also bet there would be reasons to have a covert team name that might harken to the Joes without being quite so obvious. Just to fly under the radar a bit until they can regroup.

That said, I don't have any bright ideas yet

As I recall, G.I. Joe's official name in the comics was Special Antiterrorist Group Delta so how about the remaining Joes calling themselves the Deltas in line with AV and Bindy's ideas.

Yeah, there could easily be a different cover identity for the team from how they'd think of themselves, if only to take the target off their back. Good insight that wraps back around to accomplishing what 2D2C wants.

Maybe it'd be better to play off Stalker's real name instead of the Joe codename their enemy might probably know? Maybe 'Lonzo's Legion'?

I like Lonzo's Legion in the vein of Slaughter's Marauders. Stalker's Marauders might also work.

Is THE Stalkers too confusing? Seems the most obvious choice but operationally could be kinda confusing on radio-chatter.

I keep thinking about his original paint job. Tiger Stripes, or Stalker's Stripes... I'm a sucker for acronyms , tempting to make Stripes into somethin...

thanks for all the ideas so far. to be clear these are joes that will think of themselves as joes :) the "name" i'm talking about is just an identifier or group name like slaughters marauders.

from the suggestions so far i like deer hunters because of the movie. today i came up with war dogs or dogs of war also from the movie. i'm leaning towards dogs of war and have an idea to bring in a few more survivors :) nothing in stone yet.

as a calling card/warning after every attack on KOBRA holdings tunnel rat spray paints DOGSofWAR on walls,vehicles, etc.

Looking at craps terms, there is 'The Boys'. Call them 'The Lost Boys' which ties into them being the last of the JOEs and ties in with Snake-Eyes...

'Hard Way' aka 'The Hard Way' Another craps term. Could be used like: "There's the easy way and there's the hard way and we've never done it the easy way..."


'Sixpack'

'Touchdown', ie: Codename: Touchdown or Project: Touchdown (six members, six points)

'Coffin' (six feet under, six pallbearers, etc)

thanks for all the comments and suggestions guys! i have chosen SGT STALKERS: DOGSofWAR and edited the thred title :) there is going to be an interesting plot twist that brings in a few more remnants of the joe team that will play into the dogs of war theme. for now i need to tweek a few heads, pick out some gear, and individual specific weapons.

the wips shown have zero paint, just headswaps so far. i might change out snake eyes and tunnel rats legs if i can score a few more sets of the dgsw. i will update my progress here.
