Great idea using Action Force / Action Man for the 2-week challenge for CCX. I'm in. Day 1: I started by looking at Blood For The Baron's website for ideas. I had previously done some research on Action Force for past customs, so I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for. I am looking at these three guys. Not sure I'll finish all three, but I'll give it a shot. I have ideas about which parts to use and will start testing today. 2 Para: Infantryman: Radio Operator: |

Day 1 Update: I did some building today and came up with these. I may still play around with the recipes before moving them into the painting queue. 2 Para Infantryman Radio Operator |

Wow, so much faster than I am at putting parts together. It would have taken me a day to find my screwdriver. Anyway, be sure to add your link to the Two Week Challenge thread - viewtopic.php?f=119&t=44144 |

Done. Thanks Pluv. Worked on these a little today.I made some parts swaps and mods: - changed the Para's head from Flint's to Sgt Stone's - changed Breaker's hands to gloves - removed Breaker's skirt and changed the webgear to Cobra Officer's - replaced those elastic straps on the radio backpack by a back peg - trimmed all the elbow and shoulder joints - armed them These guys are ready for paint. |

Thanks BT. Did you have these as a kid? Made some progress today. I painted some of the hard to reach areas. I have some cleanup to do on the face of the Infantryman. Also, I will paint his eyebrows black to match the original. Also started on the Para and the black camouflage. Right now, it's rough. I just applied the black splotches liberally. Once everything is dry, I'll apply some green to ''sculpt'' the camo. |

your "rough" camo is better than I could do i'm a huge fan of your work. the more I try to paint, the more I appreciate an excellent painter. I don't remember these guys, but you are nailing your source pics and more! |

Had these as a kid in the days before we had the Hasbro figures. Really looking forward to how these turn out. Great mix of parts, especially the infantryman/Wheels figure. |

Thanks guys. No progress to report on the first 3 figures. However, today was a bit of a lazy Sunday for us. I spent some time in my man-cave, but mostly sorting and organizing. I did take some time to play around with fodder. I have had an eye on making an Action Force Minesweeper for while. Since my other 3 guys are pretty far along, I figured I would add some more projects on my pile. Day 7 Minesweeper Since the original Minesweeper had a similar shirt/collar combo to the radio operator and the 2 Para, I started with the same Firefly torso as a base. Unfortunately, I had to crack it open to swap the long sleeved arms for short-sleeved arms (in this case, Kwinn’s). I hate cracking torsos and avoid it as much as I can. Anyway, fortunately, the arms are compatible. After that, I picked out some legs. Plain legs are somewhat hard to come by in ME. Most have holsters, pouches and (gasp) knee pads. For the helmet, I had a couple of WW2 era Captain America helmets left over from my 50th Tribute. These are the smaller ones, so I needed to pick a 25th era head. The larger Poc or modern heads are too big. I went with the Pit Commando. It was over-used for a while, but it fits nicely here I think. I completed the final assembly with some accessories and voilà - ready for paint. For the heck of it, while I was rumaging through my drawers looking for body parts for Minesweeper, I pulled extra parts that I found interesting for other projects. In short order, I pieced together a Medic as well. |
