Well I was away for awhile on a mission and in my down time I would watch old cartoons to pass the time. After some thought I remembered a toy line I had and watched a few of the episodes...Zoids. Then I got to thinking it would be a cool cross over since we live in the age of UAV's. I've been around UAV's and they are really cool, the joes had PAC Rats, Cobra had the Claw and Snake armor. Even now figures come with UAV's so I thought why not make the Zoids into a version of UV's. This has been a lengthy and expensive project. A good 7 months in the making and dont even ask what I got invested in this. A good part of the time was just getting the model kits shipped in from over sea's. I used MTF figures since I wanted these guys to have a uniform look to special team, and the colors I wanted to kinda match the Zoid they control via their helmets. The helmet has a neural link with the wearers head and accepts voice commands. I picked the soldiers based on their file cards or people with robotics back grounds. Every team needs a leader so I added them as well along with transport/maintenance vehicle with driver and mechanic. Unmanned Attack Vehicle. For the Joe's I have the R.A.D. Force, Robotic Attack Division. For Cobra I have the R.A.T. Patrol, Remotely Activated Troopers. I also went with the stolen technologies concept. The Joe's developed Zoid's and Cobra stole the plans and made their own versions of them. Each side has a comparable Zoid. I hope you all like my take on this different version of a cross over, not everything has to be Transformers lol the first person has been added to the gallery. i will post more soon as time permits. i have like 12 figures and zoids, 2 vechicles with drivers, and 2 mechanics. any input would be great. thanks! |

Ok so I take it no one cares lol no wonder why I haven't posted here in years. Any feedback is good feedback. No feedback speaks volumes. |

pics would help a ton. Another thing that gijoey used to really enforce around here, but nobody says anymore, is that you have to give to get. Everybody likes receiving feedback, commentary, attention and praise. Everybody. If you want people to extend the courtesy to you, don't be shy about extending the same to the hard work that others do here as well. |

You're not really giving us much to go on. This is the critique section, which usually has threads with pics of WIPs, LBCs, or other stages of completion. A link to Zoids would be helpful. Like, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoids or even a link to google images for *military zoids* If you are submitting items to the Gallery, and then wondering why no one is commenting on stuff in the Critique Section, well, there's not really anything in the Critique Section to critique. Stuff submitted to the Gallery are customs that are done enough to warrant inclusion. |

Yeah, get a free photobucket account, upload your pics there and post them in this thread so we can see them all in one place. |

Dude, I checked out your custom and wow that thing is wild looking. I never had Zoids as a kid but I remember them. Looks like a ton of work. Keep posting these your hard work is worth showing off. |

I remember the cartoon and all the different attempts to market the toys in the USA (TechnoZoids anyone?). Your finished figures look very sharp, intricately detailed, and fit nicely in the Zoids design scheme. I have one question, and it's a bit silly. Are the Joes supposed to be 1:1 scale (like they ride on top of the Zoids) or are the figures scaled up from the Zoids? I presume the figures are scaled up versions of the Zoids' pilot figures, but the thought of characters riding on the back of mechanical beasts is really interesting. |

first i would like to say thank you sir for two counts. one for your comments and praise, two for actually reading my entire post and seeing that in there i said the pix are in the gallery. to everyone else, why would i need to post pix in here when there is a gallery?!? seems really stupid to have to post in two places to get the same thing done. so what your saying is screw the gallery and just post everything here? would be a lot easier to just post pix and comments all in one place Blood Brigade wrote: Dude, I checked out your custom and wow that thing is wild looking. the way i pictured these zoid's is as unmanned vehicles. in the inscription i've written it kinda explains this but i will clear it up. these are robots kinda like the bats. they have their own a.i. but are controlled by the figures. i didnt want to give the pilots a remote control because i didnt want it to look like the joes just sat there driving zoids. in there helmets there is a neural link and combined with voice commands the joe's give the zoids a general command and the zoids fight each other. thats also why i tried to pack the figures heavey with gear because these are big robots to be blasting on while fighting man to man. so no the joes dont hope in and drive. its kinda like the real uav's. they look like planes but there is no way someone is hopping in and flying it. the only one i have being ridden is the one for serpentor. i only did this because serpentor came with an air chariot i am trying to mimic that here by giving him something to ride. Ok, I get they are UAVs, but I'm still somewhat unclear about the scale. Are the Zoids supposed to be giant battle machines (size of a building or a yacht) like in the cartoon or are they 1:1 with the Joes (size of a tractor or small car) like your side by side pictures? Very cool idea, excellent crossover. I like the idea of incorporating the Zoids into a more strictly military function and the idea of the Joes continuing to be the cutting edge of adopting new technologies. |
